New toy for the man cave
A friend was updating his ramps in his shop so put his old ones up for sale. He dropped it off today really happy. When I have a sort out in the garage I'm going to sink it into the floor so its totally flush.
"80mph" sorry officer I possibly could not have done that I'm no Valentino Rossi.

Thats awesome. The idea of sinking it in the floor sounds good too. Maybe I should look into one of these, my back gives me grief after a few hours on working on the bike.

I put one like that on my Crimbo list, sadly to no avail.

That is awesome. Not sure I'd bother sinking it as I'd have too hard a time deciding where to sink it!

Very Nice, I must admit I would like one of those in my man cave. However I don't understand the sinking of it, surly when it is fully extended it would just be at floor level then? Or have I missed something..

Re: New toy for the man cave
Pretty sure he meant mount it in the floor so when retracted it was flush with the floor and the bike wouldnt have to get up over the lip, then fully extended it'd only be 100-150mm shorterFrankie wrote:Very Nice, I must admit I would like one of those in my man cave. Re: New toy for the man cave
If means sink the base in so the lift part sits flat with the floor for loading/unloading and to look nice. If you suddenly decide it would be better two inches to the left however, you're digging a new hole
Edit. Beaten to it.

Sinking it in the floor means its like its not there at all when not using it, Frankie.
They are swines for tripping over when not being used and they take up more space than you think even when they are fully down.

If its not too much hassle and your not planning to leave I would definitely sink it in the floor.

Doh! I get it now, lol...... If they have a habit of falling over I would just anchor bolt to the ground.

Re: New toy for the man cave
even thought i have a double garage space is at a premium it needs bolting to the floor to be 100% secure. So instead of putting it to one side if i dig it out so the ramp is flush i can then have it in a more central location and just drive the car over the top of it
it sits about 20 cm high off the floor at the moment
