It'll be crap....sequels nearly always are....the one exception I can think of is The Empire Strikes Back....Kershner was smart with that one, he took it off in a different and more dramatic direction....it's maybe not better than the original, but it's as least as good IMO.

Talking of classic films they're going to re-release 2001 A Space Odessey

I want to see this on the big screen.

I hope they don't tinker with the effects.

Star Wars "The Force Awakens" preview is supposed to be released today. Apparently both in cinemas and on iTunes, but nothing on iTunes yet.

Interesting....was never a huge fan, but the effects and some of the concepts were very good....Clarke was a bit of a visionary in that respect, although I preferred the books. He did go off course a bit with some of his later stuff, like 2010 & 2061, but his early stuff was very clever.

There's a compilation of his short stories out there, it's well worth a read....it includes "The Sentinel", which became 2001.

LOLOL!!

I hope they don't....I watched it, I admit it....but that's because my future wife Vivica Fox was in it.....but she's got all fat now, so she's off limits...her loss (lay off the KFC, mami!)

It was not a very good film....doesn't mean it was bad, it made a ton of money. But every sci-fi film since Star Wars just HAS to include a fighter scene where they fly through a 'trench'....it was awesome when Lucas first did it, but it's so overdone now it's pointless.
