Pokemon Go and the CIA
The game is developed by Niantic, an American firm founded by John Hanke, whose old company Keyhole helped developed the satellite-assisted Google Earth programme.
In an article for the Katehon website, Mr Dugin said this technology was part-funded by a CIA venture capital programme called In-Q-Tel and implied the same was true of Pokémon Go.
"Software like that could theoretically turn millions of smartphone users into imperial probe droids," the article said, "taking real-time, ground-level footage of their cities and homes".

Funny that. I had a conversation with Jess just a few days ago about the level of infiltration of the population the game had achieved in a short time and the possibility of that being used with rouge software inbedded in the game.

There was a stabbing yesterday in London when a water fight got out of hand.
Let's face it, people are idiots. They'll always find ways of demonstrating that.

Pros & cons to anything, I suppose. My mate's Mom has sommit similar in her phone....we were able to find her phone, but not her....I thought I was walking into a room that might have a body in it...instead she had nipped out to the store....go figure.
It's a tool...and all things considered not a bad one.

Fair comment.
I like it. It's a welcome distraction and from time to time it gives me an excuse to go for a nice long walk with the kids. I spent 40 minutes last night with my daughter having a lovely evening stroll, talking about life and just having a catch up and a nice time. Pokémon was the excuse for that as we went to a few pokestops. I'm not embarrassed by that.

Same, I'd be lucky if I could get my son to walk 500m with me before Pokemon Go. We did 4 km the other day and we only stopped because I had to pick up my daughter.Kwacky wrote:Rossgo wrote:Bloody Pokemon Go...silly if you ask me!! That sounds really nice being with your daughter like that and in this weather it certainly is an added bonus [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]Kwacky wrote:Rossgo wrote:Bloody Pokemon Go...silly if you ask me!!
