Re: Cameron to resign.
Or!!!
Don't work....do bugger all except a bit of volunteer work. Have little and be happy with it.
I'm WAAAY happier now when I had all that crap to deal with....cars, bikes, etc.....I borrow a bike when I want to ride. I call someone when I need to go anywhere.
I'm a lazy fecker. It's great.

Re: Cameron to resign.
If the Remain campaign gave the facts as they were and what people would lose if we left, I think the result would have been different. I do wonder if Cameron really eanted to stay as the government campaign was shambolic.
I have told a few leavers today they will lose their right to free healthcare in Europe and they didn't realise that was the case. Travel insurance will increase substantially when we do actually leave if there is no reciprocal arrangement.

Re: Cameron to resign.
What is the requirement to apply for French or dual citizenship, Cookie? Is it possible?

Re: Cameron to resign.
If CM can get French Citizenship then dual status is a given.....Brit. Citizenship is never taken away if you're born there except under some very extreme circumstances.
Went through the same thing here went I naturalised. It means that when I'm in the States I'm an American, and when I'm in Britain I'm fuc......er, British.

Re: Cameron to resign.
Well my 'JOB' job is cool as feck....I'm just not doing it ATM...maybe another week or two. I just do volunteer stuff to keep busy, stop getting bored, keep me from working out doing running (world's worst sport), etc.

Re: Cameron to resign.
Well we will have to see. I'm hoping so, but we've had problems accessing healthcare even as EU citizens, when we are not I have my doubts. We will have been here 5 years before full and final brexit occurs but as you say it depends how expats are treated. France doesn't follow all the EU rules (which is where the UK has been stupid) and have clever interpretations of them which save them money i dare say - nothing sinister but it does take some understanding.Blade wrote:Cookie not good to hear mate. I'm philosophical about it but we worked hard and gave up a lot to get here and the playing field has now been changed (unnecessarily in my view). Healthcare here is not free especially now our automatic rights to healthcare as part of the EU will go.
There are many many people here who could be far worse off - some of the older expats (i've been to the local expat pub tonight to see how they are) and they will likely lose their automatic entitlement to healthcare and will have to return to the uk and be a burden on society. They will have no choice.
We've got options and are young enough to work again if necessary - there are millions of ex pats abroad who will either return or suffer i suspect.

They won't leave....just a bunch of sh*t-stirrers at work there....always gets the nostalgia crowd pining for the "good old days" etc......'cept they weren't that good to begin with.Kwacky wrote:The union jack won't be replaced if Scotland leave. There's no point.
They'll sober up and wonder they were thinking....at least 'til tomorrow night.

Re: Cameron to resign.
I don't know....sure, they'll 'wait' as-it-were....and canny proponents of a 'Free Scotland' or whatever other bilge they're pushing will say it's a smart move on their part, but they really don't have much choice in the matter. Scotland is WAAY too dependent on fiscal support from London to ever actually become independent. Been voted on before....pipe dream, nothing more.

Re: Cameron to resign.
Nor an opposition leader by the sounds of it. I bet we have a General election within the year.
