Waterproof gloves - recommendations
My trusty old Alpinestars were finally laid to rest yesterday after several years of faithful service.
Any recommendations for replacements?

Re: Waterproof gloves - recommendations
I've yet to find any actual water proof gloves that don't require wearing washing up gloves underneath. (or those free plastic gloves you get on garage forecourts). Even my Dainese ones leaked if it was raining hard enough.

Re: Waterproof gloves - recommendations
Those Alpinestar ones are the best I've had so far. But they stopped making that model a couple of years ago so I can't get a direct replacement.
These have got a lining in them for winter, which is useful http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... rod/223094" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Waterproof gloves - recommendations
They look pretty good.
Obviously you need waterproof winter gloves for commuting, but I'm finding it best to just wear summer gloves and get wet hands when it's warm enough. The padding on my so called waterproof ones makes them almost impossible to put back on when wet.

Re: Waterproof gloves - recommendations
Best gloves IMO are Held gloves so they would be my first choice and they have a very wide range of waterproof gloves.

Funny enough Held have just posted a tweet on this subject this morning. Hope the info is useful.

Re: Waterproof gloves - recommendations
I think Duke got some Held Goretex gloves? If goretex fails within 5 years they will fix it apparently so I was told today.

I can't remember which gloves he's got but he certainly rates them.
Re: Waterproof gloves - recommendations
Dont get the cold protect GTX. They were good when I first got them but under two years later my hands got soaked through and 2 days later they still aren't dry.

Yeah the Richa, They review well but I dont think they last.
I hoping this thread brings something up. I spent 4 hours riding at the weekend with soaking hands.

Re: Waterproof gloves - recommendations
I know Duke has the Held gloves and I think they are the gortex / summer glove.
They do quite a range of waterproof gloves so maybe worth a look possibly.
Is there any Ride magazine reviews you can download ?

Re: Waterproof gloves - recommendations
I have the Air and Dry Held gloves. Totally waterproof so far and if the day starts wet but finishes warm and sunny you can just put your hands in the vented section on the way home.

I have some RST gloves but they last for about 30 minutes before giving in.
I'll look at the Held ones Duke's got.

Recon gloves is one of those things you can't skimp on, sadly I always have. I'll certainly never buy a pair on the internet without trying them on.
