Met one of the Dad's out side my lads classroom waiting to pick the kids up from school. Couldn't believe it when he was in an electric scooter and thought it was a piss take.
Apparently knocked off his bike in February and was in hospital a month with a completely smashed foot that they have scaffolded out in titanium.
He's got an infection and if it doesnt go away there is a real risk of amputation.
Scary stuff and shows how vulnerable we are.
Buy good kit and stay safe guys we only get one shot at this life

My dentist was telling me about his mate's dad. Apparently very fit (went Mountain Bike riding with them at weekends) early 50's. Went into hospital to be checked over after being in a minor incident. Whilst there he was sick, and inhaled a particle. That created an infection that was immune to Antibiotics (superbug).
Dead inside a week, from having been 100% fit.!
I read somewhere that the vast majority of people who die in hospital die of an infection they caught whilst in the hospital.
I don't know how much of that is merely anecdotal....people only go there when they are sick, so it stands that their immune systems are already at a low to begin with. And that's in spite of all the precautions that medical staff take.
Paying off monthly debts and credit accounts. Damn it feels good! By the end of the day I'll only have the monthly household bills to pay which = more bike bling haha. Maybe I can actually start saving money...
You should try using a Neti Pot and saline to cleanse your sinuses once a day. I've had one for about 4 weeks now and I've had no issues whatsoever with allergies (I have very sensitive sinuses), it really helps. Weird at first filling your sinuses with lukewarm fluid but feels soothing after that.
Airkix Manchester. Great facility. Our session was shared with a professional Italian sky dive display team so I'm guessing one of the best indoor facilities in Europe .
had a great day with my son today we watched some racing on telly (nw200) and popped to Mallory for a couple of hours to watch the plop enduro , really enjoyed spending time with him today
Tragic news at the NW200. Fatal crash in the Supertwins today and all racing halted.
RIP Malachi Mitchell-Thomas. Always terrible news to hear and hard to find the right words but thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones he leaves behind.
