Re: H2R Brands Hatch lap
I can't get over how well it handles for the size and weight. Very stable looking.

Re: H2R Brands Hatch lap
I terms of just top speed at the end of the straight, that's not that quick if the speedo can be trusted. But to be fair Brands is one of those tracks where power has much less advantage.

I mean a ZX10R in your standard trackday trim.. improved brakes, little lighter, sticky rubber..

Re: H2R Brands Hatch lap
I'd say a well set up 600 would spank it around a track like Brands.

Re: H2R Brands Hatch lap
I hate how they look but I would love to come against one at the track. I Had a little tear up against an S1000RR at Donington - that was good fun!!

Thanks Perkles
I'm properly excited for trackdays next year as I will be shedding some weight off the bike and giving the brakes and suspension some attention

Re: H2R Brands Hatch lap
Thanks a lot! I've only done 3 trackdays so don't feel I should be racing yet.. maybe another year of trackdays before I start racing - I don't have the money or the bike for it though so will take some time !!

That BMW shifts on the straight
Love the look over the left as you do him on the right.
You're very quick by the way. I wish I was that confident on the corners.

Re: H2R Brands Hatch lap
Yeah he is monsterous on the straights !! They were only standard bikes too (with track fairings).
I do love that bit when he looks left. You can't see it in the video but he nearly hits me because he keeps turning right due to looking left over his shoulder.
I learnt that I could brake hard into the corners from going minimoto racing with some friends. I've done about 1 hour on minimotos in total and you can brake so late and keep braking so hard when at lean - as long as you load the tyre properly. That and my obsession with watching onboard footage, twist of the wrist 2 and various other "lesson" videos keeps me learnng the theory before I go to the track and put it to practice

Re: H2R Brands Hatch lap
What groups do you all ride in then? I'm in Fast group.
It was quite a funny time on my first trackday - I started in Novice and after one session the guy came over to me and was like, "You've got to change groups!". At the time I thought he was angry with me but he said that it wasn't safe. I then did a session in Inters before I got a BSB Superstock guy to follow me to see if I was quick enough for Fast Group. After lunch I went up to Fast Group and I've not left since! I was petrified when I first went into Fast Group though and I worried like crazy when I went to Donington - then I didn't get overtaken all day..

Re: H2R Brands Hatch lap
It depends on the track and the mood I'm in. I'm mid paced inters but I hate the inters group. I've done some track days where I've asked to drop to novices because of the amount of red flags in inters.

Re: H2R Brands Hatch lap
The inters group does have some of the worst riders IMO.. those people that think they're Rossi and are dangerous. They have an attitude problem too and they ask you a question but don't listen to the answer - or they already know the answer.
You do get some really good riders in Inters as well though and I feel for these people in that group - they may not be fast but they are predictable and you have relative faith in what they're going to do next
