That's was a steal it had a few grand of kit on it too.. Wish deals like that were still available. Sportsbikes are getting better with performance and technology but becoming more and more high end luxury products because of such.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Started the RSV today to see if it needed charging before next weekend. Apparently not. The engine only had to turn over a couple of times before it fired into life. Not bad considering it hasn't been touched for a couple of months and doesn't live on an optimiser.
Next weekend I'll check the oil and tyre pressures and that will complete post winter checks.

Checked the tyre pressures and charged the batteries. Spring isn't far away now.

Not today but I always rotate my wheels during winter to ensure no flat spots develop on the tyres or wheel bearings.

Isn't that old advice that's perpetuated? My CBR was parked for months without being touched but I didn't have any problems when I started riding again.

Breakfast run to Loomies, been taken over by a new owner, I am impressed, lovely sausage bab and a couple of cups of tea. Worth a visit just for the Babs, and I dont mean the ones housing the sausage lol. no I have no pics...
Fun ride down, still damp under tyre, boo... tried an old route back, wont be doing the road up to Odiham again, I dont remember the road having that many double whites, nightmare.

Not that I'm aware of and the engineers at work still get us to manually rotate the shafts on shutdown rotating machinery at least once a week to prevent bearing flat spots.Kwacky wrote:Blade wrote:Not today but I always rotate my wheels during winter to ensure no flat spots develop on the tyres or wheel bearings.

Frankie, have you tried the A339 from Alton to Basingstoke? It's another one spoilt by double whites but if you get lucky it's a cracker.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Oh yes mate that's the road I take to Loomies, after Alton I get onto the A32, Oh and the A272 is right there as well lol.....
I was going to redo the A339, but there was a bunch of guys on a slow ride out in front and a whole bunch of traffic, so I thought I would give the Odiham road a go... Would be fun if nobody was on it! Ideal for an early run before the muppets wake up, but this time of the year, mud, gravel, damp all cover the roads (always in the places you want to put your bike!) not ideal, so I will visit again in the summer

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
My god, there's some roads I haven't ridden in a while.
Unfortunately a lot of roads round that way have gone solid whites and stupid speed limits. I must get down to loomies this year, I didn't really ride south at all last year.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Monty my fav section of the 272 is from Winchester all the way to Midhurst, not really ridden it further than that, normally headed south towards Brighton. However after you asking the question I checked the map and noticed how much more I have not ridden lol. Plan of action this year, ride the 272 all the way from Winchester to Maresfield, seems to be a trip of 95.2 miles (one way) lol.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
No mate the moped is still rideable so used it since the collision, apart from needing air in the tyres on the cb1r it's ready to go and I told the insurance company this but they insist on bringing me another moped to use.
I get knocked down but i get up again.
