Schumacher's accident and the cause of his injury

Apparently his brain injury was caused by a GoPro camera mounted to his helmet according to his son, says an F1 commentator today.

Must confess i have always been reluctant to mount to my bike helmet though it was more to do with the ugly mounting kit which i suspect would be a permanent attachment.

whether this is true or not, i have always been a believer that a helmet of what ever discipline is/has not been designed for something to be stuck on the top/side of it. it must be obvious that it will/may impair the integrity of the item under certain conditions.

I agree with you both. There are loads of fitting kits available. Having one on your lid doesn't make any sense to me.

They're daft....they simply aren't allowed by TDO's here....you're simply fitting a device to your helmet that will impede it's effectiveness....there's no two ways about it, and all the "But I wanna post on YouTube" drivel is not going to change that.

Totally agree. A helmet is a piece of certified and tested safety equipment modifying it in anyway from its original design is a big No No IMO.
