Re: MotoGP 2020
I suppose it makes sense that they double up and keep it in Europe. We may see some lap records smashed with double the track time!

Re: MotoGP 2020
All Yamaha riders are on their 4th or 5TH ENGINES already. Obviously they have had some serious issues. It blows the Championship wide open.

Re: MotoGP 2020
Not sure on those figures Duke unless they have used more engines this weekend which would be very serious. At the 1st round Vinales had used 3 engines and Rossi 2 engines is my understanding.
There is only an allocation of 5 engines for 2020 so not good and obviously serious if all Yamaha riders had used their full allocation or had just 1 engine remaining. I believe they said revs maybe restricted for this round im an effort to help, which is a huge blow as their already down on top speed.

Re: MotoGP 2020
If its a narrowed down to a defective component I imagine they will get a dispensation like Aprilia did, based on the safety grounds.

Re: MotoGP 2020
I can't see them getting a dispensation, every other team would protest and rightly so.

Re: MotoGP 2020
Sounds like the factory hasn't got a clue whats going on or got any idea on a fix, as before the event this weekend Vinales was 3 and Rossi 2 engines used.
Suggested rev restriction doesn't seem to be having the effect they desired.

I belive Aprilla did on the basis of safety grounds.duke63 wrote:I can't see them getting a dispensation, every other team would protest and rightly so.
If its a proven manufacturing defect and not a design issue it would seem reasonable to me. Must be something in the rule book to cover it.

Re: MotoGP 2020
MM93 back in hospital today to have the plate replaced as they are reporting it has not been sufficient.
I still think he should not have been allowed to attempt to race at Jerez. His and other riders safety should have been given priority.
