Beefeater - when did they turn into a cheap budget restaurant - I know they aren't up there with Mitchelin started places but there was a time when they served good stuff
Harvester has now taken the top spot, I always thought beefeater was more of a treat (slightly more pricey) but quality has gone down the pan. Lucky we had 40% off, although we wouldn't of gone of we didn't!!

Fecking forms!
I reckon we must have filled out the equivalent of an encyclopedia for James by now. The latest was a form for a private dyslexia assessment, 20 fecking pages. The school get the other 15 pages

I feel for you mate. I’ve just got Byron on the National Disability Insurance Scheme here and the months of red tape and forms was boggling.D6Nutz wrote:Fecking forms!

I hadn’t done it before now as I was managing with mental health plans from the doctors which subsidised his appointments but after the drama of last year we had to kick things up a notch and I also realised he’ll need it as an adult so easier to get him into the system now as it gets harder every year.

It's insane isn't it. We've just done the Disability Living Allowance benefit forms and I guess that is similar to your DIS forms. 40+ pages, it needed multiple sittings and a friend who had filled it out before to help.kiwikrasher wrote:I feel for you mate. In comparison the blue badge (disabled parking) was a breeze at 5 pages.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
My medical officer wrote a letter to my GP prior to my appointment to get work clearance and basically made it impossible to clear me. She said she felt rather threatened by the letter and the level of assertion they required couldn’t be done at GP level. So now I have to pay to see an orthopaedic Specialist to get clearance. Luckily she got me into one on Monday.
So another weekend at home.
I had a talk to my HR Manager today and laid out my feelings on the situation and how it is affecting me, especially with pay etc. there is a one month waiting period for income protection so that’s not an option. I said I hadn’t actually been deemed unfit by anyone that has actually seen me and had the Darwin doctor actual certify me fit only be overruled by a desk doctor in Singapore. I also explained the fires situation and how I owe 9 extra days offshore so wasn’t keen on stacking more days on out there as it adversely affects my custody.
She said she was going to take it to the Regional (Pac-Asia) HR and see what can be done, but it was a very guarded political type response so I’m not holding my breath.

Im really not sure. He was really awesome when I was off with my spinal issue. It feels like they need to justify sending me back.Kwacky wrote:Why is the medical officer being an arse?
He’s also under the pump with all this coronavirus stuff going on, he’s had a few nights where he’s had no sleep and has been in the office for more that 24 hrs so I’m guessing my little problem is just an annoyance atm.
What gets me is he said the Darwin doctor shouldn’t have cleared me. But this was a doctor that physically did a clinical assessment on me, and has been working with Oil & Gas companies here and overseas for 15 yrs and was happy to sign me off. But head office is saying he should have waited for the advice from Singapore. Why did I even go see him if I’m he was never going to be able to give his professional determination?
Oh well, another weekend at home and I’m still kids free. Pity we are getting 200mm of rain over the next 5 days so the bike is out.

Weather forecasts.
Stop telling me it's going snow, forcing me to use the car only to find it's bright sunshine all day.
Feckers.

We had some flurries last night.
Three days running now I've had a forecast for snow in the day. Nothing.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Just tried to upgrade my mobile and went through the whole process and presses the button only to get a text 5 minutes later to say it wasn’t in stock in store. ( was going to pick it up as local today) so I ring customer services who tell me as far as they know there is stock as he had just ordered one for another customer. To cut a long story short, he ended up with another customer services call and said the only way to sort it was to cancel the order, wait 24 hours and then for me to do it all again.
Shambolic doesn’t begin to describe it.
And when I spoke to the manager and asked her how they could show stock online but not actually have any in store, she said it’s the way their systems work. And then she said if I turned up in store and did it there, today, they might have some stock in store.
How do these companies survive?

Apple normally does interest free at this time of year, so worth a check. Plus Three are doing, unlimited everything, data, etc for 20 quid on sim only contracts.

or £16.50 a month, and the data is totally uncapped plus you can use it as a hotspot. My kids use in the car or when we go down to the cottage in Wales.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
This is my last post on phones as I don't want to hijack the venting thread:
I got a deal by going through Topcashback > MobilePhonesDirect which in total saved my over £400 plus a free Samsung Smart Watch. In total, over 2 years I will be paying less than £600 for my Samsung S10 with 100GB data. The phone cost £700 alone!

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
They have FAQs but I believe the contract is with Three. I've forgotten if I'm honest.
