I haven't done this for a while so unsure how well the decals are going to deal with it.

I have now added propeller and the aerial and the canopy. I have also given it 2 layers of gloss varnish to prep it for decals and a sludge mix to hopefully get into all the lines which will make it look like dirt. This I'm hoping will also stick inside the decals too - but we shall see on this

After that it then needs a lay or 2 of Matt coat finish

An update - last night I dropped the model and broke the read wheel and 1 of the front wheels, rear is now very weak and the front is slightly bent, I've packed it with very strong glue! All it has to do is last until completion and then it can go into my cabinet, fingers crossed it be ok!

Update with my Elsie and her brother, mum and 'aunty' dogs...

Elsie is nearly back at 100%.

Her brother had a really bad day 2 days ago and was back to about 80% yesterday, he should be as good as Elsie today.

The mum dog (Ellie) is about 7 years old, she has been vomiting a lot yesterday so they've all definitely had a bug. I haven't had an update about her today but she is looking VERY miserable.

The big worry now is that the oldest dog hasn't been ill yet. She's over 13 and been losing weight for a little while so if she gets the bug it could quite possibly finish her. We are doing what we can to prevent it and the very first time she vomits she'll be in at the vets for them to keep an eye so she can go on a hydration drip as soon as is necessary.

Been out for a morning blast. Roads are quiet, damp and cold so practicing some drifting (giggle)

The Michelin Super Sport tyres are brand new but are so easy to spin in the cold and damp :P

My go-to method for weathering decals is nearly always to apply them before the process begins, or just afterward. Then paint them either black or rusty brown, or both, and then wipe the paint straight off, leaving just a trace of it remaining....just a trace, mind!!
Airfix always had good decals, but fragile. Matchbox were more sticker-ish...almost too good in a way.

Aside from washing and polishing the bike, the car got a scrub too and I took all the Christmas decorations down and put them back in the loft for another year.

I took the SDGT for it's first MOT today at Doncaster Motorcycles, it passed with flying colours.

While they were doing that I wandered next door to Chris hall motorcycles and had a good look around and had a chat with another customer who was just collecting his classic Ducati... And we got chatting about his car, so he took me and the salesman for a quick blast around the block in it...

A Tesla model 3 Performance, 0-60 in 2.9 seconds with no noise, just an electric whine and a touch of tyre noise... I really want one, checks lottery ticket, damnit. It's a goal for the future!

Then rode over to Alan Jeffries BMW for another look at the F900XR and a sit on it in my bike gear, feels a bit different to jeans and trainers. Mid February he says it can be registered for test rides and I will compare it back to back with the S1000XR, they have 3 used ones at about £10K which is doable.

That's a nice looking car.
Sub 3-second 0-60 time for a car is frickin' mental!!

It was strange to be pushed back into the very comfortable leather seat, in near silence with the speedo climbing faster than I could keep track of.
The owner was a little surprised that I knew how to open the rear door, it's not that intuitive but not difficult.

It's much faster than the Superduke, the bike has a better power/weight but can't put it down without trying to wheelie, then you have to back off or let the electronics keep the bike shiny side up.

The bike will be quicker north of 80mph though so you might have a chance from a rolling start. Downside with the Tesla is the power is reduced as the battery charge reduces... unlike the Porsche where you get all the power all the time and the range is better than claimed.

The Tesla site puts it at 3.2 seconds 0-60, not bad for a near 2 tonne car.
