Day off. I was going to go out on the bike with wife but it's fecking freezing.

So I'm slobbing out doing nothing. I've been to the gym and I'll feed the spiders in a bit.

I'll have to check if there's room later on. I've had a couple of rough months money wise so I need some stability.

Sitting at the airport lounge waiting for my flight to Darwin. 2 weeks offshore this time and if I can manage that no dramas they will officially out me back on the full roster and my life will be back to the normal routine again.

Until the new company takes over then god knows what happens.

Good start to the day. The security guard on the gate is an ex-biker and a good bloke. Then of the three security blokes inside two spotted the RoR band on my arm fun yesterday, on was on the ride and the other had mates on the ride.

Always good to get on well with the security Image

Working and trying to concentrate, I had a nice Email from a company which I applied to about a month ago. Not a job offer, but not a "Go away" either, a link to an online assessment to be completed by Sunday.

I've had a 14 hour day so I am leaving it until tomorrow, I want to do it now. But I also want to be sharp and give it my best attention... The job would mean a £6K pay increase and a foot in the door to move on up to more than double my current salary.

If I want my own house in an area where the bike will stay where I leave it, even locked away, then I need to move up the food chain by a LOT!

That sounds positive mate, and a good call. Worth tackling something like that with a fresh mind. Good luck.

You should have taken the Falcon. It can do the run in 12 parsecs.

A parsec is a measure of distance, not speed or time. 8-|

I don't think Star Wars is really real.

I tried a practice assessment, Verbal reasoning... 17/30 (whew) I'm not used to this, and the way things are worded with a time limit ticking down, sheesh, for a train conductor's job?

I have said in fun that bus driving has numbed my brain but I didn't expect that, and they don't tell you which answers were correct so I just can't mold my brain around it right now.

I have a 4 hour lunch tomorrow so I'm coming home to try again then.

No kidding??

Still....they could have done a bit better...that's just a simple continuity error that they should have known.
It's just rocket science..
