Re: The next prime minister
I see Johnson has cried out of the TV debate.
Could it be he would be found out for the shyster he is?
I would never ever vote for a **** like him.

Re: The next prime minister
Johnson has been advised not to take part
In his defence it's not up to the public to vote for the leader of the conservative party so these TV debates don't really offer much.
I do like Rory Stewart but I fear he's not right wing enough for thehe Tory party to support him.

I just read something along the lines of "I hope Theresa May watches it at home with a Nandos takeaway and three bottles of Blossom Hill".

Re: The next prime minister
From what little I saw of the debate, it seemed the audience had come to the same conclusion about the preferable candidate.?Kwacky wrote:.....I do like Rory Stewart but.......
I wonder what Monty thinks.?
Interestingly there was a perceptible message from most of the candidates that Labour were "the enemy", I suspect to detract attention from the centre ground party (which recent evidence suggests may be more of a threat to their share of the vote).??

Let's be honest. None of them will be able to solve the Country's problems. They are all living way back in the past.

Re: The next prime minister
Is that because he's not brexit enough? That's the feedback from Twitter

Re: The next prime minister
Probably because he talks the most sense and has actually lived life a little, unlike the idiots who will be choosing the Tory leader.

Re: The next prime minister
Twitter feedback from anyone with the brexit party in their profile is that Rory is a Remainer and he's May's puppet.

He's a trained negotiator, and a pragmatist.Kwacky wrote:Twitter feedback from anyone with the brexit party in their profile is that Rory is a Remainer and he's May's puppet.
The fact that he is positioning himself as someone who will "try to sort this mess out in the best interests of the country" I expect will be enough for the resolute Brexiteers to remove him from the equation at the very earliest opportunity.
Hong Kong seem to be showing the rest of us how protest & "the people's opinion" can be expressed, with a measure of integrity.?
Good arn't they, those Hong Kong born?

Re: The next prime minister
I'd like to see Rory win if only to see some reasonable debate return to PMQs, but he won't. At best, if he gets into the top two with Bojo he will broaden the debate during the leadership election.D41 wrote:Don't mind me....I'm just quoting that for posterity....StMarks wrote:

I'm afraid Bojo the clown has already won so it's no deal BREXIT or a general election.
Three weeks ago I would have jumped at the chance of a general election, now I'm not so sure.

It's now being alleged that Stewart was in MI6 after he left university.
Surely this is a good thing?

Re: The next prime minister
So here's where I stand.
I voted remain. I mildly prefer Labour to the Conservatives. Theresa May was brilliant at stalling. Now is 100% NOT the right time for a General Election and I just wish for someone to step up to the mark and get a half decent deal for the country at this point. I don't care who that person is and I don't care what party they're in. I just want it to be done and for us to get the best deal possible (whether that's a deal or no deal it doesn't matter).
If the country we live in can keep hold of jobs and avoid all these factory closures and subsequent addition to poverty then I am happy. In that grand scheme of things, this is what the country needs most now.

Re: The next prime minister
People don't care though. Look at all the shit thrown at Trump. People no longer give a shit about policies or previous conduct if they like someone. If they don't like someone they'll swallow all of the bullshit thrown in their direction.

Re: The next prime minister
He's promised alot of the people who have the power to elect him a £6000 wages rise.
Like it or like it not, in the bent and corrupt world we live, the reality is money still talks. He may be an idiot in many peoples eyes, but he is not daft, clearly.

Re: The next prime minister
How will he pay for that? When Labour promise more spending the right wing press let loose saying the sums don’t add up. Johnson’s sums don’t add up.
Where is the condemnation for him?
