Re: What are you doing today ??
Taken the cat to the vets. She scratched me up trying to get her intk her carry case. She was going ballistic in the car going to the vets, got her on the vets table and she went quiet and calm, got her out she sat on the scales, had all her checks and jabs, the vet calmly put her back in the carry case and she was absolutely fine.......what did I do that was so different hahahaha

Trying to book a holiday - it's utterly bewildering the choices available these days.

Having a lazy day, got up early to put out the bins, visited MiL on her Birthday, cleared up some of the packaging we’re swamped with and am now chilling with a good book and a coffee.

Animals just 'know' - the vet does this stuff all day long. You try putting the cat in a box & it goes berserk - the vet wants to shove a thermometer up it's @rse and the cat is just "Sure, go right ahead!!"Rossgo wrote:Taken the cat to the vets. Because their communication is non-verbal, and as such they are far more aware of the vibes we humans give off than most humans.
Rossgo will have been stressed by the situation, and as such the problems became a self fulfilling prophecy.
Conversely the vet will be perfectly used to the scenario, and consequently his confident & relaxed attitude will have assured the cat.

I may have dogs, but I also have cats. Wouldn't be without one.
I've heard about you guys who don't like pussies.

Re: What are you doing today ??
D - yes i have a dog and a cat. Both as lazy as eachother sometimes
StMarks - yea I agree with your description, I was certainly stressed, time was ticking, misty wasn't allowing me to pick her up etc. Your logic is sound to be fair.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Well....in all fairness to myself, I have warmed up a little bit to cats these last few years.....begrudgingly.StMarks wrote:

But my main problem with them is they roam around outside in the grass, then they come inside & rub up against me - and I'm allergic to grass (have been since I was a wee bairn)....so then I break out in a rash, which then scabs over, then I bleed all over the place. Not buckets of blood or nowt like that, but I end up having to do laundry every 2-3 days. It's fcuking annoying.

Roof wasn't up before Christmas but made good progress today. Hopefully have the Ply laid and fixed tomorrow, possibly felt too.
Once the fascias, doors and windows are on and the blocks are painted I'll make a thread on my build. The garden won't be finished for probably another 6 months yet but it's going well so far
I'm now sitting down with a coffee to do some more uni work... time to make a presentation #DeathByMakingPowerpoint

Re: What are you doing today ??
Just got back from camping, three days of 40+ heat. We were right by a river so spent most of the time in there! Kids were up by 6 am and off swimming before breakfast!

That's about as bad as camping in the really cold I reckon. Saw an article yesterday about temperatures getting up to 50 in aus, so was wondering how you guys where doing.kiwikrasher wrote:Just got back from camping, three days of 40+ heat. Re: What are you doing today ??
Over the last few days I've been enjoying some down time. Did fiddle with the sites email settings, so hopefully notifications will be working for most people again. There is still a small issue with Hotmail rejecting some emails.
As for today, we're packing up as I've booked a lodge for a few nights. Feel like we need a bit of a get away.

So far we've been around the Olympic park. We've been up BMW world and are sitting in the BMW cafe having coffee and cake before going into the museum.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I put some LED high beam bulbs in my car and one of the adaptor collars fell in to the headlight, that was fun.
I had to take the bumper off to get the headlight out to shake it out of there. Once that was done both the car and bike got a wash and then a test at night, they're a great upgrade on the unlit country lanes around here and are legal.
High beams are not checked for pattern, they just have to work, low/dipped beams are another matter entirely and are upgraded Halogens (Osram Night breaker Laser).

Went out shopping & bought myself a snazzy new Bobby Dazzler of a winter jacket. It'll go well with the other ones that have never seen the light of day.

Chilling out after a decent drive to the lodge. It's nice enough, and has a pretty decent view. The hot tub isn't bad either.

Going to battle, which is just down the road, to see the abbey and the battle field of the famous 1066 battle of England.
