Hope it's not the usual Aprilia affair and a 230 bhp oil leaking, conrod throwing hand grenade

Aprilla, Ducati, Kawasaki, Yamaha and BMW have all released their heavyweight challengers recently.
Honda is going to have to come up with something might impressive if it not only wants to sell sportsbikes but remain competitive at the TT and in BSB/WSBK.

Tbh Blade the amount of crap they're dealing with at the moment regarding the airbag recall fiasco worldwide, I can't see them ploughing any capital into a project with dubious return margins. Honda may well be taking a sabbatical from sports bike design for a year or two.

Re: 230bhp Aprilia RSV4 for 2016
Wasnt aware of the airbag recall tbh. Is it pretty bad ?
Tbh Deegee I had my very optimistic head on when typing that but then again saying that they have promised Nicky Hayden an all new Blade in 2017 and as the current one doesn't meet Euro4 I reckon it's more than just a rumour. Honda have a proud racing heritage in superbikes and at the TT and hopefully they will want to maintain it with an all new Fireblade. Fingers crossed anyway.

Re: 230bhp Aprilia RSV4 for 2016
Apparently there is an issue that can result in the firing mechanism malfunctioning and shrapnel can be fired at the driver if the airbag is activated, iirc Honda have been given time limits by the US authorities to deal with this and risk big fines if they don't comply.
Honda have been the slowest and least organised car manufacturer of the 4 affected by problems with the Takata companies issues (they make this mechanism), which tbh surprises me as I though Honda were better than this, whatever their issues are they're probably directing a large portion of their available assets towards this issue.

Cheers Deegee I hadn't heard of that. Sounds very serious and hopefully Honda step up to the plate and get this sorted soon. A company that doesn't stand by its customers especially where safety is concerned is not a good company at all imo.

Don't be surprised Deege I have been into the Honda Swindon plant quite a few times and it's a dump compared to other car plants,Honda are known in my industry for being penny pinchers and not investing in capital equipment

Wow very surprised to hear that Perks. I'm sure it's very true but also very surprised as it's not what you would expect.

I want a 750 as a track bike in a year or two.

loved my gixer was close to getting another on the road it was not slow and was close with the zx10 on a few cheeky roll ons :-P
going back to the aprillia would love to own one but would have to be a second bike as i would be gutted to miss a summers riding due to parts and break downs

Re: 230bhp Aprilia RSV4 for 2016
I retract all my negative Suzuki Comments and in fairness my mate at work has a lovely mint condition Gixer1000 K6 and he loves it it is a very NICE bike
Very exotic machine too. I believe the frame is made from billet shiteolly, the welds are hand done with a trowel and the high quality chinese plastics are painted in the finest crayon with stickers and shiny bits to enhance. Apparently he gets a lot of admiring glances from blind men galloping past on horse's
