A very well written article IMHO. If this understanding was wide spread we'd as a global community have a far better chance of reducing the impact of terrorism. But as the human race has shown throughout its history, truth and logic rarely prevail. There is so many narrow minded people that just want to blame Muslims as a religion for terrorism without even seeking out the truth, and that unfortunately plays right into the hands of these groups who can then claim "Muslim persecution" as a defence for their attacks.

EVeryone has a right to their own opinion, but I tend to agree with you. Even if there was any truth to the basis of most religons they have been warped and manipulated throughout history to facilitate the goals of those at the top.

I do wonder though how in this modern world where you cannot say anything to offend sexuality, race, age,skin colour etc but you are allowed to throw abuse at another person's religion.

Its about respecting other peoples point of view IMO.

I am an Atheist but my wife and all her family are very committed church members with very strong faith. We have polar opposite opinions on the subject of religion but we show each other complete respect on the subject.

My wife takes both our children to church and as they enjoy it I have no desire to discourage that. However if a time ever comes when they no longer wish to attend church both of us as parents will respect that wish and they can stay at home with me.

As I said at the beginning IMO its about respect and not offending or challenging other peoples beliefs but accepting their importance to them.

We (well me anyway) are simply unable to conceive beyond our three dimensions. However even with our limited knowledge it is easy to see that there is so much that we do not understand & cannot begin to explain.

So what's to say that there is not some "consciousness" that lays outside of our conception, perhaps linked to all matter in existence.?
