ZZR1400 anyone and thoughts

Mr BB has one which was bought specifically for 2 up touring this year.

However after a dummy run at the weekend it proved a little disastrous.

The speed at which this missile goes is really unsettling, not because of the actual speed but how unaware you are at getting there.

Just been reading our local scales of justice and speeding quite consistently carries 6 points. My question is how do others cope especially 2 up, because at this rate we will be going oop north 2 up on a mille or me on the 750 and him on his .

Gone through a whole list of alternatives and may look at a CB1000r

CB1000r is a great bike but I don't think it would be very good for 2 up.

Don't you want to go on your own bikes?

Kwacky I would love too, unfortunately this old crumpled body is only good for 150 miles max in a day, and he says I won't keep up !!!!!

Fair enough.

Well if he's the pilot then it's his licence. (devil)

In all seriousness you'll be hard pushed to find a better two up tourer in that range. There are bigger bikes or more tourer based bikes but all of them do silly speeds.

He is bit porky so could do with something roomy plus luggage.

Maybe he needs to use mental strategy when swapping from his own to the rocket machine .

Lovely bike but so quick and effortless getting there

Keep the Kwak and wire up an electro-shock gizmo to his Y-fronts. Go over 70mph and ZAP!

Instant speed correction.

VFR or Sprint ST? Still more than quick enough...just not insane and they're made for 2 up with luggage.

VFR , I suppose as much as I hated being on the back when we toured Germany it was the best so far for us.

It's not a case of riding like a numpty it was just a case of how quickly the speed rose above the limit without really noticing.

He is a careful rider and tends to leave the silly stuff on the track.

So far he has advertised the ZZR for sale and if it goes in the next 3 weeks then we will go for something like the Tiger for now or if it doesn't we will see how it goes the end of the month .

Fully loaded for a weeks trip 2up may make a difference.

What about a BMW GS, Ducati Mulistrada or KTM Adventurer ? All good quick bikes with out being warp speed enabled and good two up.

How much you thinking of spending?

Sporty tourers unfortunatley all are very rapid. Honda Blackbird, ZZR etc.

Sprint GT/ST is probably the same but with less poke and more nimble. I'd gor for that. And brand new is a bargain.

£8,999 brand new with heated grips, panniers and top box.

Horrid colour though in the main pics.

Sprint is one to think of, colour not important as it's to do a job a few times a year.
Hopefully have a look at a few at the weekend .

He's such an awkward shape. Long in the leg but short in the body, oh and a bit of a pork chop .
