I would never have guessed that there was that many British marques....I can think of Triumph, Norton, BSA, Aerial, and that's about it.

AJS, Matchless, Sunbeam, Villiers, Vincent

Brough-Superior is another one, but I only know that because of Lawrence of Arabia.
When I hear Matchless, I think of the amplifiers.
