And a big proportion of the delegates have strong links to fossil fuel companies.

And a big proportion of the delegates also have strong links to the fleet of over 400 private jets used to ferry them all up to Bonnie Scotland....

Follow the money.

We are **** though. We live in a world where it's far easier to whip up hatred and anger at the protesters trying to do something about it than the corporations causing it and the governments doing **** all about it.

100 companies are responsible for 71% of the world's carbon emissions.

It's no wonder they're spending money to tell people it's all a hoax.

The WWF are lobbying the UK government in attempt to counter the illegal mining that is destroying & poisoning the Amazon.


Too many people, all too greedy. Human society is so obsessed with gold bling, that they don't care to see the mercury from the mining turning the Amazon white.
What hope is there for any constructive steps to counter global warming, when the Brazilian government are allowed to acquiesce to the world's lungs being ravaged..

It's Brazil.... it's hardly a bastion of democracy.
Maybe they view the Amazon rainforest as just another natural resource to be utilized..?
That's what most other countries do with their resources, isn't it??

The problem is consumerism and we are all guilty of it.

Strikes me this is our very last warning. A lot of people lost their homes in London yesterday due to the fires. We are making even temperate climates like the UK inhospitable in the extremes.

We are currently on holiday in Italy and the hotel
Owner here says their climate is becoming tropical.

The powers that be don’t want that though as they are in collusion with the McDonalds, Amazons, Shells of the World. Many companies have more power and money than the Nations they make their money from.

Hmmm....I was just thinking - I've lived in Buena Park for about six years now, and I couldn't tell you where the local McDonald's is.... maybe a general idea like "You'll find one over on Beach Blvd" if someone were to ask directions .... but I honestly don't know. How un-American is that???

It's not just that though.

Do a Google for photos on Blackpool beach before and during the pandemic. I remember seeing it a while ago.

Every other species on the planet other than ours respects it's environment as it's what sustains it's survival. The conclusion is obvious, and places like Chernobyl show that even when we **** up bad the planet and other species survive.

Shell have just announced £10bn quarterly profits - £6.5bn will be paid out to shareholders

Centrica (British Gas) operating profits for first half of this year are £1.34bn

These people aren't going to give up on fossil fuels any time soon.

To be fair, in terms of revenue Shell is one of the biggest companies in the world - none of the figures quoted in relation to a business that size would surprise me....it's just silly money.

How about across the board?

Not only destroying the planet but taking all the money off everyone too.

The last four years shown on that chart are remarkably similar to the figures of around 40 years ago. Quite surprising.

Not really... oil and gas production is quite cyclic. Technology back then made only certain fields viable to exploit. Those reserves started to get low, that drove technology to be developed to exploit smaller, more difficult reserves, revenue recovers.

.... And there's way more vehicles on the road, that's not going to hurt profits either - I imagine they totally offset any general improvements in fuel economy..??
I hadn't thought of the oil industry in cyclic terms, but it makes sense.
