There is an MV specialist place in Leicestershire.

I can't vouch for their work peronally but usally independent places are the ones to go too.

Thanks Simon. Noted for future reference.

It's booked it with Completely Motorcycles. They've offered to collect it which means I don't have to take time off work and worry about it not starting.

They were supposed to pick the bike up tomorrow but I had a call this morning to say they were about 20 miles away and could collect if it wasn't a problem. The bloke who came seemed to know what he was doing and took care of the bike when he loaded it up. I've told them there's no rush but apparently they've already booked a slot in the diary for the work to be carried out.

They won't have any in stock because they only did the SCS model for one year :)

They dropped the MV off at lunchtime. I just need the time to take it out to give the battery a good charge 😁

I managed to cook the rear brake (facepalm)

We pulled up at a layby. As we pulled away the bike felt sluggish, like it was bogged down, but it soon went. I put it down to topping up with super or using too much throttle when I pulled away.

I get home and the rear wheel is covered in brake fluid. It obviously cooked and looked for a way out.

I do my best to clean it up but it's been on for too long. The rear wheel is going to need some TLC

Has that actually gone through the powder coat? Looks like it needs a bit of compound to remove that. If you're certain it's on top you could actually use brake fluid to re-emulsify it and then clean with brake cleaner, etc

I might phone MV tomorrow and just say it seized and failed. Blame them and ask about a warranty claim.

(nod)
It must have failed, mustn't it.?? -Unless you'd been riding round with your boot resting on the brake pedal, and you can't see that happening given your extensive riding experience..

I called DMC who I bought the bike from. They've got no access at all now to MV Agusta so they can't help.

I called Completely Motorcycles who swapped the battery for me recently. They're collecting it tomorrow if the driver routes are confirmed. If not they'll get it next week. They can't say if it's a warranty issue until they look at it.

Completely collected the bike, they'll look at it next week.

The wires and tubes around the rear caliper are melted. I'm expecting a large invoice (doh)

F!ck

Everything at the rear is cooked. The seals have cooked, the wires have cooked, the pads got so hot they bent.

It's £585 for a replacement caliper, disk and carrier. Then there's labour. Then they need to check to see if any of the cables need replacing.

They can't process it as a warranty claim. The bike is out of warranty. Even if it wasn't MV have cancelled all dealership contracts so no one can put in a warranty claim.

That’s not good. I would look for a s/h caliper.
