I was going to order a new top headset bearing but only the stock one is in stock... the stock one has completely disassembled itself so no thanks.
It might be worth investing in a Chris King headset...?? They're pricey, but fairly indestructible. Plus you can move them from bike-to-bike if you change your bike later on down the line.

Even if I wanted to, there's no stock. They weren't ridiculously priced either

Commuting on A-roads, in the dark, strong gusty winds, cold, with lorries and dodging puddled potholes is fecking scary!

I have a choice of 2 roads to get to my workplace and the alternative (a twisty and hilly hedge-lined B road) is absolutely not an option. It's basically signing up to a painful death.

My first "all night ride".. it was dark by the time we got to the woods so I'm calling it.

We made it to the topograph in time for two firework displays on nearly opposite sides of the Beacon. It was bloody cold so we didn't watch all of them.

Cleaned the thing after yesterday's sheer mud fest in preparation for the Forest with my mate tomorrow... Little anxious.. he never tells me much about the trails he takes me on then I am faced with some daunting stuff which I do my best to achieve

Wow... these locals trails at the Forest of Dean were INCREDIBLE! Quite flat so you had to really work on the corner speed but it was really rewarding.

Loads of jump opportunities and nothing of any particular consequence. Can't wait to go back to the Dowies

I think it's just me that's interested but GMBN shop has 50% off most of their stuff making their Jerseys £20 each - a proper bargain.

New rear brake pads ordered (will be my 3rd rear set inside of a year) and a much meatier front tyre ordered too.

I'm fed up of eating sh!t because the front end loses grip

Checked my chain for wear and had to change it last night. Riding in this morning and my bike was silent, the worn bearing feeling through the cranks was gone, I was a gear higher in most places and I got a few PRs.

I did not realise a new chain vs clean old/worn chain was that big of a difference!

Rear pads changed. The spring pad was doing some of the braking.

Front tyre changed. Pretty sure it's a 27 inch bead on a 29 inch wheel.. jeez that was tough.
