I saw the underseat bags and thought they'd be good for essential tools. It is worth going straight to cleats or sticking with normal pedals? I don't own cycling shoes yet so will have to buy some regardless.

SPD is shimanos system was made for mountain biking but is a good cross over for road and general use as you can walk on the shoes
Look or Keo was designed by Look france and is aimed at road cycling its almost like a skiers lock in system but you cant walk on the cleats

I just found and read up on SPD, I think that's probably a good system for me as I'll have to walk across the factory floor to get to my office in them.

I think it makes sense to get straight on that.

Perks do you have a recommendation for a decent "cheap" road bike? You can't get gravel bikes for under £1k really.

I'm not sure I'm able to go through the cyclescheme as there's a cut off which I missed. I've been looking 2nd hand but everything is nearly new prices

I sent you a pm to look at cycle division they sell a lot of x demo Scotts and cannondales at good prices ,look for last years models

I did look at that on my phone but I must have only looked at Ex Demo. Just realised they have a 2nd clearance bit.

I dont carry two bottles when I am out so use one of these for a spare inner tube,tyres levers and a gas canister ,I also put my house keys and credit card in it

I set my timer on my garmin to bleep every twenty minutes to remind me to eat or drink and if the weatehr is dodgy carry a cycling fold up waterproof in my back pocket
Tyre pressures on a hot sunny day 100-110 psi
Wet ,cold,greasy roads 90 psi max
Dont have your saddle pointing down like some twats do because they think it makes you faster it should be flat so your arse bones sit in the curve of the saddle.Saddles with a cut out along its length are great for blokes as cycling puts a lot of pressure on the UT and prostate
If you get serious its worth paying a recommended expert to set you up on a bike fitting system,there any so many charlatans out there that have jumped on the Mamil band wagon and will fleece you.So be careful who you go to

the little mini pumps are shit and only really good for wacking twats in cars

I have a little bag under the seat with a spare tube, however as my bike is set up on a mini rolling road indoors, i dont think getting a flat will be an issues ha ha ha.

Only trouble with this, (noticed yesterday) dry mud seems to be on the bike still, and it has found its way up the wall behind the bike LOL!!
