Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
Mrs Kwacky reports the injection site feels like she's had a dead arm. No other issues.

Exclusive: Boris Johnson accepts he made a mistake in delaying first lockdown
Close allies say the Prime Minister would act 'harder, earlier and faster' to battle the coronavirus outbreak if he had his time again

Wonder when the brexit realisation will hit him.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
I had a poor nights sleep. The injection site is painful. My joints ache and I've got a banging headache.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
I'm in the midst of a poor night's sleep myself..... just spotted a rat (or humongo-large mouse) scurrying around behind the washer & dryer in the garage.
The cat gave me a "Whaddya want from me??"-look. That cat is about as much use as a chocolate ashtray. Maybe if I put him on war rations he'll start pulling his weight around here. Grrrr.

Sobering and from a man who really does know.. And I bet 100,000s will still vote for tax cuts next election rather than building an NHS that can cope properly.

my sister in Italy just told me its spreading like wildfire again and they are going back into full lockdown, I expect our Goverment will ignore whats happening elsewhere and just ask us to clap for the NHS or start a war with china to distract us

They seem to have pulled their big boy pants up in the last few weeks so hopefully they've learned the lessons they've said they've learned.

The UK government is waiting to see what the results are from the kids going back to school.
In my eyes, vaccination is the only way out of this now.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
Prevention is better than cure.
I would dare to say the vaccine isn't either and therefore can't be the only solution moving forward.
There needs to be a better solution in our every day lives and reducing density population would go a long way to solving that. In the schools this could mean stopping crowding more and more children into classrooms by opening larger or more schools therefore providing more classrooms for the number of children. This would also help improve the grades of white middle class boys (the lowest scoring social/ethical group) as an additional bonus.

You expect a government to increase spending on schools?

Thing is, vaccination doesn't stop you catching out passing on the virus. It only stops you getting seriously ill from it.Kwacky wrote:The UK government is waiting to see what the results are from the kids going back to school.

Therefore it won't die out it will simply mutate until a combination arrives where the vaccine is ineffective against it. Once that happens we're back to square one.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
But the vaccine does cut down the transmission time. Once you've got the antibodies your body can react to it immediately meaning the period of time when someone is able to transmit the virus is massively reduced. Vaccination has a positive impact on the R rate.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
Covid 19 is here to stay...probably forever. Its like so many other viruses that suddenly appear. Its important that as many people as possible are vaccinated to reduce the risk of spread. Approx 20,000 Brits die of flu every year. We have decided that is an acceptable level.
What we can do though is work round it, vaccinate against it and try and stop the health services around the world getting inundated with it.
That costs money and everyone has to understand we will all have to pay something towards that.
