Fwiw I'm not convinced that the NHS would be in a fit state to cope with this sort of pandemic, whatever level of funding it had been been allocated.?

Presumably we should all just try to help alleviate the pressure, by doing our best to slow the rate of spread.
Easy to critisice the goverment, but I think sensible and realistic measures have been put in place to alleviate the problem as best is reasonably practicable.

I was watching Trump on TV earlier talking about the coronavirus pandemic, etc.

His appearance is downright bizarre.....he looked like a giant orange tomato wearing a silver wig-----for a moment I thought there was something wrong with the TV.

Friend who is a teacher has been told to prepare home learning packs and that it's likely school will close Friday 20th March for 4 weeks.

The world has talked itself into being confined to the house.

Another week and that will be the UK.

Britain will be similar by next weekend. Life as we know it will be on hold for the foreseeable future.

I just got back from a quick foray into the local Aldi. It was like being pulled into the Saarlac Pit.
I've never in my life seen people get so excited over a six-pack of Pot Noodles. It's like all-out war on Aisle 5.

So international travellers to Australia have to self isolate for 14 days now....... be interesting to see if that includes us offshore returning and if we can still get a domestic flight home from Darwin

I should imagine it'll be those people entering from other countries, not those who've been in Aus., left to an offshore rig/platform/or whatever, and then come back home.

Then again, never underestimate paranoia.

We have personnel from many other nations that work on our platform

Timor Leste, Phillipines, UK on a regular rotation as we do, and vendors from Singapore, NZ, USA and EU, though I’m sure vendor visits are going to be under strict conditions.

Looks like you will have every long wait. A lot of new Ducati stock is being held at ports, that are currently not working, including the first of the V4 Streetfighters.

It's going to be a very strange year and I think we are about to learn a lot about the fragility of the way we lead our lives. And how much we really do waste in terms of food, time and energy.
