Sounds like some Tory MPs are getting the jitters too as they know they cannot defend this.

One says he has been accused of being at the party even tho he claims he wasn't

Only very small minded types will cut off their nose to spite their face. Much more constructive to seek justice, rather than stoop to the level you are criticising.?

Surely those responsible for undermining public confidence should face criminal charges akin to treason.? - No hiding behind position or favour.

Of course, that will never happen. As (almost) always those political types will evade justice. Our democratic system needs a serious overhaul imho.

I would venture that we live under a Plutocracy not a Democracy .

That's nothing new though, is it mate.?
Not long ago their opposite numbers were in power, and they enacted Holy Crusades that resulted in death & destruction on a huge scale & all for nothing.
No charges there either.?

Possibly.
A Plutocracy can only infiltrate Democracy with the acquiescence of the electorate. If society comprises of minds so easily lead & manipulated that a Plutocrat can enable them to afford him (or her) control, then surely the system of democracy has been undermined & needs an overhaul.?

That’s a given. The control the plutocrats have over our media is anything but democratic.

Only the wealthy can afford to stand for Office , who else can throw away £5k and then all the promotional costs etc ?
I would venture that the system has always been this way , it has got less so over the course of history but is still very much biased towards the wealthy , the last chance the common man had to become a part of the "ruling classes" was when the unions lost their power within the Labour Party , since then we have been ruled by career politicians , slaves to the Party line as without Party backing they have no seat .

Every single newspaper's front page this morning is laying in to Boris. His time is up.

We just need the people of Shropshire to give him a good kicking in the by election too.

The problem is, there is no viable alternative in most people's eyes.

Bojo the clown is everywhere, loud and brash. He's all people are seeing for politicians at the moment, anything else in government changes or goes wrong they wheel out the clown as a distraction.

Even if people know change is needed, the only way it will happen is even people are able to see and hear a political party with an alternative. And somehow they need to be heard above to Tory white noise.

I know he will be replaced by another Tory public school twat but hopefully the next one might have a brain and see the immense damage this clown has done.

Next year the Bank of Engalnd are expecting inflation to be 'in excess of 5%' which is a round about way of them saying they have no idea how far in excess. If its closer to 10% then people will see their standard of living drop dramatically and very noticeably.

We also have more strict rules regarding EU import and exports as well from 1st January.

He's kicked out all the relatively decent Tories (the Dominic Grieve types) and we're left with this talentless slimefest of a cabinet. I don't really see what getting him out will achieve, and I'd rather see him go out in the next election with the rest of them.

Not that I think this spineless, neoliberal, sycophant, leader of the opposition will do much better.

I have to say I agree, but I imagine the Tories will boot out Boris before the next election anyway.

Starmer is such a disappointment. PMQs yesterday was terrible.

the media are openly reporting that some Tory MPs are looking to see if there is enough support for a leadership challenge.

I'd love to find some positives from this, but Tory voters have incredibly short memories. A quick change of the **** at the front before the next election and all this Boris sh!t will be long forgotten.

I honestly thought way before COVID was even a thing that the fallout from BREXIT would finish them off, but if anything it's made them stronger.
