That's what I thought, the star and the nazi salute don't usually go hand in hand!

What a set of melts.

Anti Vaxxers have started using the Star of David because you know, being offered a vaccine and asked to wear a mask is the same as being treated like a Jew in nazi occupied Europe

Yep....throwing around a few Third Reich superlatives or comparisons will always get the attention of the press...."Any publicity is good publicity" etc.
Douchebags.

I sometimes wonder if maybe humanity has peaked and we are starting to spiral downwards.

Absolute cock wombles

I don't know about spiraling downward, but it certainly seems like we've hit some sort of impasse.

.....A bit like Luke, when he found out who Vader really was, I suppose.

(nod) Of course it has/is.
Every species on the planet has developed and evolved through natural selection. The best & most efficient life form progresses to further generations, lesser versions do not.
Humans have arrested, even reversed that development. -The film "Idiocracy" was pretty pathetic imho, but did illustrate the effect in a way that even the current "future of humanity" could understand.

Fwiw I suspect that the actual future of our "humanity" will be inorganic and algorithmic. Furthermore when we do achieve that state it's going to realistically enable space exploration, and allow our continued existence and expansion into the rest of the universe without our dependency on nature or even hospitable environments, etc...

I think too many in the Western world are content if they can visit McDonalds and get pissed on cans of Carling from Tesco.

The Green Party has gained 70 seats, strange how that hasn't made the headlines.

Also Labour have stayed strong in some areas, Bath and the West. Seems Sadiq Khan is likely to remain Mayor of London.

Britain is a deeply divided Nation.

And Wales, Preston council, plus the Salford Mayor. Pretty much every where they’ve stood a socialist they’ve done well, but you won’t see that reported in the media.

Report on Channel 4 news about Newquay. One free food place serves 8,500 meals every weekend

I can see Cornwall and many places being on its knees in in a year or two. Lots of coastal places were already struggling before brexit and the virus. Many locals can't afford to live and eat in towns they grew up in.

I fear we're going to see the rich using this recession to grab more land and properties.

On top of that, I was reading an article about smaller towns and villages being turned into ghost towns because of holiday homes, further decimating incomes.

On top of that fishing boats being unmoored by the owners of holiday homes because they don't like the noise is making.

There are times I genuinely wish I could disown this country, I just have to remind myself that this crap situation is the result of a selfish few.

I think we're fast heading towards the return of Victorian values: no rights for workers, land owners with all the power, the poor ignored and a greater divide in society

We never had a proper revolution but we should be more like the French and not take shit from those at the top of the tree.

In Paris, this photo shows the stones still viewable from one of the original guillotines bases outside Prison de la Roquette. These would have been erased years ago if this was the UK, but the French leave them there...as a reminder.
