They need to be concentrating in the economy which is in far deeper shit than the media will portray.
HMRC is on the brink of collapse through lack of competent staff and they appear to make any excuse to hold on to tax refunds as long they as they possibly can.
The cost of borrowing for the UK and US governments continues to increase as well as the money markets fear both might not be in a position to repay what they owe at some point soon.

The NI cut is bollocks. It serves no purpose. They need to start taxing the banks and energy companies and closing tax evasion rules

It's nothing more than political posturing and an attempt to reduce the voter gap..
Expect more in the spring budget as they prepare for an election.

I can't see anything other than a labour landslide next election. Whether labour can improve things is another question.

Re: The Daily Post Election Politics Thread
They will, it's the cycle of politics in the UK.
Labour make unpopular choices to fix the mess made by the Tories, life is shit and people yearn for the Tory good times when money was cheap.
**** are quickly forgotten and old people say it was better in my day under the Tories and they get voted back in again.
Thus the cycle perpetuates...

Re: The Daily Post Election Politics Thread
All bribes which some Tory voters will fall for. An NI reduction coupled with a whopping pension increase? Utter madness.
We need to start ringfencing certain taxes to pay certain elements.
The economy is shot. No one is spending as they don’t have any money or credit left,
One example is the car market. No one is buying cars so wait for car manufacturers / dealers to start going under.
I’m not sure Labour will do much better but they might be kinder. We need a new approach to how our governments raise money and spend money. The attitude of that more money solves problems needs to change too. IMO.

£140 million so far and they haven't and can't actually send anyone there
So how much does it actually cost to keep the asylum seekers in the UK?

And does getting a signed agreement with an Unsafe Country suddenly make it a Safe Country?
We truly are in the age of complete fukcwit politicians and voters.
