It's that or a ride in another team but I can't think where he would go.

Shame to see a multiple world champion bow out like that.

Love him or loathe him he was a rare talent and his inch perfect, riding was a pleasure to watch.

The conference is with Dorna representatives present so i can’t see it being a team change.

Without him, MotoGP is going to be like Dr.Evil without Mini-Me.

He’s no more than a moving chicane at the moment. He’s either still injured or has lost his mojo.

Either way carrying on makes no sense.

Can't believe I'm seeing all my favourite riders slowly disappear.. a new era..

Imo Rossi and Lorenzo back in the day where the most exciting to watch.. that rivalry..

He's made the right choice. He's had a very distinguished career, he's been one of the fastest rides going, there's nothing for him to prove.

Its a very emotional and well done goodbye to the sport. I've just watched it back and it's well worth a watch. Focus on the positive, he is one of the greats. (y)

On his day he was difficult to beat and as fast as anyone. I think he is the only rider to have beaten Marquez to a championship in MotoGP. Better to bow out now than soldier on. I hope Rossi does the same this time next year.

Marquez has taken bike racing to a whole new level in the last two years. I can’t see anyone out there who will beat him over a season.

Rossi Vs Lorenzo at Catalunya.. that's the Lorenzo I was a fan of before he got (IMO) too big for his boots with people waiting to hand his gloves to or to pass him his helmet (Vinales is just as bad).

It is a shame but he's done the right thing.

I too hope Rossi does the same next year, he's taking up a seat which should be given to an up and coming rider.

I was talking to my mate today ( who i haven't seen in ages) who was a decent car racer back in the day but loves watching bike racing more than anything.

He reckons any youngsters who are being beaten by Rossi now should have a serious word with themselves as he is 40yrs old and should be beating them. :D

I was hoping Rossi would follow him this time next week, not good to watch the slow steps down the ladder.

Personally I think Rossi is still doing enough to hang around. He’s up fighting in the top 10 a bit more lately.

Feel sorry for Lorenzo to go out this way

Imagine if Lorenzo wins this weekend. Unlikely, probably impossible I know, but what a swan song (lol)

Bayliss did it in 2006 8)

I get the impression that Honda might have cancelled his contract and he had nowhere to go.

There is no doubt he has lost his nerve.

It would be good if he ended up on the podium for his last race.

Allegedly been at the Ducati factory yesterday. He isn't hiding the fact either. Ducati test rider maybe?
