Only a few days to wait for this. I hope it lives up to the hype.

Yes - i think they had to set the scene, but it did jump around a bit.

I did enjoy it though.

It's a slow burner for me. It's all a bit obvious. I get the impression they're going to use most of this series to plot build.

I'm a massive fan of Patrick Stewart but I'm starting to wonder if they should have brought him back in this role? He appears to be trying too hard to be Capt Picard. I would prefer to see him as an old man who has been retired and got on with his life, rather than someone waiting to rush back to Star Fleet

I'm not sure why they need to try and make this series more adult. Surely kids should be watching it as well?

Maybe I'm being overly critical after the excellent job they did with Discovery.

I know what you mean.

The swearing is unnecessary and annoys me.

It's all a bit meh for me. I'm not feeling the Star Trek love.

Hoping it's just very slow to start, they do have a lot of narrative to set up.

I've caught up now, deffo not a fan of the swearing. It adds nothing and isn't even in keeping with the kind of character being portrayed.

Can see the potential for a decent storyline with a lot of historical startrek references, but do get in with it a bit.

Yes, but a beheading? Still not sure about this one.

I really enjoyed this one, and a clean beheading is not the worst thing that I have ever seen in Star Trek.

I thought the opening was overly graphic, no need for that.

Stewart appears to have lost the ability to act.

Otherwise a decent episode but I'm not hooked.
