What size panniers have you got?

The standard Honda ones.....40 and 30 litre. Was ample storage for the 5 day trip.

Getting the Givi 58 litre top box next year for heading over to Europe.

They're the same ones I've got. Mine look massive on the bike. I don't think filtering is on the cards

I picked up the new battery yesterday. The guy at Honda told me that Honda send them out with 30% charge in them. Sutton Honda had stuck it on charge overnight but the advice was to charge it in full before I used it

I really struggled to get the charger to charge the battery. I reset it a few times but was getting different messages from the charger

Finally I got it to charge and the charger checked the battery, spent 20 minutes topping it up and then gave me the green light.

I'm starting to think I've got a dodgy charger. I've sent a message to the shop I bought it from.

The charger is going back for a warranty inspection.

Does that mean your original battery may actually be ok, with the application of a correctly working charger,?

When i charge my bikes, they are done together, one lithium and one normal.

They don't charge at the same rate which i would guess is due to the way the different types of battery work.

I had the old battery out of the bike. I left it for 48 hours on 2 occasions just in the hope it would pick up a charge. I even put the battery on the radiator to heat it up. Heat can help restart a battery that's not completely dead.

I had no reason to think there was anything wrong with the charger. It's new. I was following the instructions plus a few suggestions I found on the internet. I just presumed that the old battery was dead (it might still be).

It was only when I had issues trying to charge the new battery did I think the problem might be with the charger.

Perkles: The charger is a lithium only TecMate Optimate lithium battery charger. http://www.tankslap.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7968" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've had another recall notice for the SUV. This time it's the fuel tank. Some people have had an issue with rusty from the welding and that gets into the filter.

So I'll have to get it booked in shortly.

Did the new battery get it up and running in the end?

I've not booked mine in yet. I'm going to couple it with a demo ride on another bike. Hopefully the new speed triple.

I took a new AT out for a shot when I was getting last service, preferred mine.

I’m not sure what I’m getting this time round. The guy I deal with at local dealer is great and usually gives me something nice. Mentioned I was contemplating a Goldwing and he was all up for me taking one away with Mrs for a long test...might wait for summer for that and see if I can get one for the weekend.
