Cavetrolls MT09 thread
Posted: 07 Jul 2017, 18:43
So as a few of you know i wasnt particularly getting on with my zx6r and was looking at swapping it for something a little more.....fun......andi was looking at yammy mt09s.
Well today i did the deal, rode into dealers on my ninja, did a deal and rode out on a 2014 mt09 with 9500 mile on the clock, its completley stock except its had the yammy throttle reflash to smooth the jerky throttle.
You know what, i havnt stopped smiling while on it, yes you can tell its a bit of a budget bike, the brakes are shocking and the suspension feela like a bouncy castle at the birthday party of a fat 6 year old thats just had cake, but i havnt stopped giggling and loved every second, i immediatley felt a million times more confident on this than the kwakka and abused it that much harder because of it, already had the front up a few times.
I teat rode one of these when it forst came out and opted for the triumph over it, the triumph just felt the more sophisticated bike and it still does, but i must admit this is jus so much fun. BUT there is room for improvement so i figured id start this thread so as i do it up you guys can see. Already the shopping list is long and expensive....
Exhaust- thinking Titanium Scorpion Serkat system
Stubbby levers which ive already ordered as i need these with my manky hand
Fly screen
Belly pan
Crash bungs
Bar end mirrors
Swing arm bobbins - not glamorous but essential
Proper suspension set up / spring replacement and rear shock
Braklines, brake pads and generally anything to improve the stoppers coz at the mo thet are the worst thing about the bike
Im sure there will be more very soon but for now im just happy, i just had so much fun on this bike, and its nice knowing i can still corner haha! (Just not on a sportsbike apparently)
Cheers
