Realised I have been putting off new tyres for too long. The bike has been sliding all over the place today.

Time to put a call into Mike.

Oil and filter change
Brakes stripped and cleaned
Brake fluid change
Coolant changed
Spark plugs checked
Suspension linkage cleaned and greased
Chain degreased, cleaned and lubed
Radiator cleaned of dead bugs
Fasteners torqued
Head bearing checked

All ready for a good thrashing

Is the clutch sorted now?

Found out that it's not the relay causing the indicator issue. I put the new one in but it's the same problem.

I fecking hate electrical issues

Tried to move the rear wheel round to get the sticky bits of from the old wheel weights, and found that it wouldn't move...

Rear brake was locked on solid, the lever still had play in it so very odd really. I think it's objecting to having new pads that actually work for the first time in 5 years. A little bit of persuasion soon got it spinning again, but then forgot to clean the sticky bits off

Did you clean the caliper pistons off before you retracted them to fit the new pads D6Nutz.?
If you didn't, then you may well have inadvertently pushed dirt back into the caliper (stuck to the outside of the piston). That then tends to cause the piston to become sticky. The brakes will probably still work well, but the pads will tend to bind slightly.

Didn't you have issues with the rear indicators when you first had it?

I did mate. RSV's have a long history of rear brake issues, normally it's the other way round where the brake just doesn't work. Previously I've had issues with the brakes locking on, so I'm wondering if there is a bit more damage than was previously visible. I plan to whip the rear calliper off and give it a major clean and see if that helps. The pads have done less than 100 miles (that was in varying conditions as well) so it may just be things bedding in (hopefully)

Yeah. I'm going to take it back to the same place that fixed it last time.

booked it in for new tyres. Getting them fitted next Saturday.

Not my Bike but had 2 brand new Dunlop Tyres fitted to my car as mine were barely legal and what a difference it has made! :-D

Got the new front tyre the spent ages with a dodgy front paddock stand tryin to refit the wheel, Got there in the end, Gunna take it out in the morning to scrub it in

You told me to fit maxis last night

Put the s1 back into road trim and took it for a quick blast last night for testing purposes of course.

Been out to test my new wheels out.

Even just 750g lighter i can feel the difference on the way the bike turns and rides. Worth every penny.

And they look much better than the 3 spoke Brembos.

They do look spot on. Very smart indeed. That bike does you proud.

All I've done is scrub the chain and changed a few bolts.

It gets a little bit better over each winter. I will owned it for 5 years at the end of the summer.

Its still a great thing to ride too.... for a few hours anyway.
