Alhough my boy makes the Hoover board look easy. He was quite nervous about it so I was really proud and impressed when he showed his old dad how to do it (clap)

A lot more than I want to...

Woke up at 5 am and could hear the water pump (I’m on rainwater tanks only for water) constantly cycling every 3-4 mins. Usually means a tap left on but a good survey found no taps on. But what I did find was a dirty great big leak from my hot water heater (gah) so heater switched off and water pump unplugged. No water to the house.

Jess had markets at 7am so by then it was time to get her down to town and set up, then straight home to start sorting the HW issue. I have a plumber mate, so tasked him to source a new heater while I cleared the garage out so we could access the heater, and then drained it and disconnected plumbing and electrical.

Plumber was pretty stoked when he turned up and all he had to do was help me lift out the old one. While he plumbed up the new one, I fitted the new mirrors to the GB400.

When he was finished reloaded the garage with bikes and all the rest of the stuff. In the process came across a bunch of my old Daytona parts that came off post crash, so that all got binned.

Now I’m dirty and tired and because our hotwater is heated on off peak power, the heater won’t even start heating till 10 pm. So trip to Jess’ for a warm shower I’m guessing!!

Glad I was home when it went otherwise I would’ve had a flooded garage to contend with as well. Confirmed my method of turning the water pump off when I go offshore too, everyone told me I was being too OCD, but (finger) them, I just proved my point!

Done very little. I was in the pub for 7.30 and we got home about 1am. Despite my wife saying she was driving by about 9pm she was on pints of saison. Then I got into the doghouse for chatting to a woman for about half an hour. End of the night I called an Uber and some twat tried to pinch it. All good fun (lol)

Been to see Ruby Wax at Stafford.

Fascinating insights into why we are humans as we are and how we react to stress and the thoughts in our brains.

She also had a Buddhist monk and neuro scientist on stage with her.

Much humour too. And the woman who interviewed Trump some 15 years ago reckons he was a **** then and is still a **** now.

Nope. I have one 30,000L rainwater collection tank and that’s it.

I don’t have sewage service either, I have a Biocycle treatment system that treats all my wastewater (to near drinking quality, not that I would) and then sprays it on the lawn on my back section.

No gas either, that I get in 45 kg bottles.

I get power from the street, but I also have 6 KW of solar panels so only about 25-30% of my power consumption is from the grid.

I still have a home phone line because there is no mobile reception here.

I live in the sticks. And it’s glorious. Except when bush fires get close.

Solar, rainwater and drainage systems should be part of every new build along with car charging and fibre optics. The prices have come down a lot, but as usual the law makers fail to do so.

Too many with a vested interest in keeping things as they are. By the time we wake up to it, it could be too late.

Watched Countryfile last weekend. The governments own research has concluded that in 30 years time, we will have so over farmed UK agricultural land that food grown on it will have insufficient nutritional value. That is truly scary.

My house is 4 years old and there's no provisions for an electric vehicle. No solar power panels. Granted the house retains the heat so it costs less to keep warm but that's it.

We've just had a few new house built in the village, yep you guessed it. No solar, no electric charging points..

This was even after the village negotiated to have ev charging points installed.

You're not usually one to put much faith in what the govt. tells you, how come you believe them on this particular issue, Duke??
