Watched my daughter ring the school bell for each of the years she was at her school and walk the yr 6 leavers tribute on her last day of primary school.

She was the only senior girl not crying.. bloody tough nut (lol)

I shed a tear when my mother-in-law sent me a picture of my Son smiling like normal again! He actually looked like himself and it is fantastic :)

Been out on a works Xmas piss up today in Brum.

Worked well in the current circumstances as we had a room all to ourselves.

It’s good to be out and be able to forget about all the bad vibes going on in the world.

It’s our nominated Christmas Day today.

Sports on tomorrow and all the kids are of to other parents on Sunday so today was our last full day together before I fly out to work.

I don’t care it’s not the exact right day on the calendar, because the kids are happy, Jess is smiling and I have my dearest all around me.. this IS Christmas in my books.

Oh and Jess got me a V8 Supercar track experience! 6 laps driving then 2 hot laps as passenger (rock)

Wrapping presents and writing my resignation letter, I started explaining reasons then realized that I had written a 4 page rant, not so much giving them both barrels, more opening up with a Gatling gun :D So I deleted that and just went with a short and simple downloaded template.

Edit
Also just fitted a Connects2 bluetooth module to the car's factory radio, it's a little quiet but works well enough through the cd changer controls 8)

Fwiw my inclination would always be to suggest that you follow that ^ sage advice from TS management.

(wait) However....

Depending on how you feel about the colleagues you are leaving behind, and the conditions that they will continue to endure,,,,,

''' perhaps ( taking care not to turn it into a rant ) itemise the issues that you have encountered, that were the prime motivations for your deciding to leave.
If you word it as "concern for the company that it may be in danger of losing further experienced employees if the issues remain unaddressed", rather than (the more therapeutic ) actually saying how trucking stupid they are, perhaps that may even benefit your rep' after you leave.
It would have to be carefully drafted, and depending on the mindset of those receiving it , may well be wasted effort anyway.?

My legal advice is to keep it to two or three lines

Tell them you're resigning.

Confirm the date you're leaving.

Thank them for the job.

Dear ********
Please accept this as notice of my resignation from the position of Bus Driver at First South Yorkshire.
Since my notice period is 1 week, I believe my last day will be 24/12/2021. Please let me know if that is incorrect.
Thank you for the support you've given me during my time at First South Yorkshire. Please let me know if there's anything you need from me before I leave.
Yours sincerely,

Signed and dated.

Simplistic, but I think it will do the job.

It was just his name, although one of my colleagues somehow gets away with calling him "Cockwomble!" At every opportunity.

Notice handed in and he tried to talk me out of it, also wanted to know my reasons.. I kept it simple, passengers and money.

At the airport on my way to work.

First 3 week trip in 18 months. Felt weird not to be packing a bag for quarantine and only having my offshore bag.

The last few trips I had pretty bad anxiety the day before flying out, but yesterday I didn’t even have a touch. Had a good day with Jess, pub lunch, sorted a few things out around the house and just enjoyed each other’s company.

Can’t believe 3 week trips used to bother me, amazing what a bit of perspective does, after 6-7 week trips this feels like a walk in the park!
