People are astounding
I heard about this guy through the running club and just wanted to share what he is doing as, in my books, it's something quite special.
Many people do things for charity and many choose distance running as a worthy challenge. One friend I have made in the club ran 7 marathons in 7 days, which is an incredible feat.
Ben is taking this to another level, he is attempting to run 401 marathons in 401 days. That's not a typo and you did read that right, over 10,000 miles.
I'm gutted, I was hoping to get down to Basingstoke to run some of the marathon with him. Work and injury has put pay to that.
Anyway, if your interested you can check out the cause he is running for and his progress below.

Bloody hell. That's something else. I don't think I could do a marathon in 401 days.

Very impressive. Would that be a record Nutz ?
The key to doing a challenge like that is not fitness although granted it is a prerequisite it's staying injury free.

Re: People are astounding
Is that actually even possible? Just the amount of food he would need to eat would be a marathon in it's self.

Tbh I remember when I was doing my marathon training and your spot on Monty eating the volume of food from the correct food types was actually a chore. Sounds madness I know but eventually the novelty wears off and it becomes a slog as much as the running.

Re: People are astounding
If he does that - fair play to him!
Surely his muscles are going to just implode as they drain themselves of all resources and he will effectively end up paralysed?
The furthest I have ran in one go was 5k so my thoughts on completing this myself are, "F*CK THAT!!!"

Fair play to him for even trying. I also wonder if it will be possible for the body to take but massive Kudos to him anyway.

Re: People are astounding
I was chatting to the physio about it, he reckoned the first 20 days would be the worst after that the body kind of accepts it as "normal" the biggest risk is injury.
Diet is also interesting, there was a post from his run in Newbury the day after when he stopped with the supporting runners for fish and chips...

Chewing up that many calories per day, I'm guessing he could eat just about anything he bloody wants!
