Tankslap Peak District Tour - 30th September

As requested I will organise a mid week tour of the Peaks National Park.

It's always busy at weekends and during school holidays so picked a date in September which also gives people plenty of notice.

Got a good route with plenty of good cafes and cake shops.

Can sort out meeting points when we know how many are coming and where from.

If Wednesday's are seeming preferable can I suggest 9th or 16th Sep? Any others and I would have to get time off work... Which isn't a massive problem as long as I have enough notice to get cover etc:

BTW... The same goes for the Wales ride you have posted up Blade

Cheers

I've put it in the calender as Wednesday 30th September.

Sorry I can't do those dates you mention Deano unfortunately as in work and I don't get holidays.

Obviously you can do the dates you suggested but I won't be able to come, but happy to help with a route.

Anyone got any suggestions why the dates I put in the calender when I created this post are not showing ?

You need to put the date in the topic title

Ok thanks for doing that

I guess there is a perfectly good reason but as I dont know the answer I have got to ask what's the point of using the calender if it doesn't use the date you have entered.

The calendar does use the date you put in, but what goes in the Subject Title in the thread is entirely up to you.

I'll make a call closer to the date when I know what the weather is likely to be.

Have a great trip Rossgo. Rome is a great city to visit we day tripped when we had a week in Florence to attend Mugello motogp but so much to see you need a few days minimum. Have fun and enjoy all the lovely food too.

Colesium is definitely a must do. We normally get the lonely planet guide for trips like this and would highly recommend such. If you have nt already booked your accommodation they normally have some good recommendations.

Lonely planet guide?
I think the plan is to get cheap flights and hotel and then rest for food and trips! I personally know very little about the city but that's half the fun. We do enjoy getting to places and then learning on the go! Prob book next week as my partner is off for the weekend so would be an ideal time [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Lonely planet are great sources of info.

If you dont want to buy a copy as you like to just go with the flow each day you could have a look in the lonely planet guide before departure for a few ideas as a suggestion. Most libraries have the popular ones in. Maybe nip in at lunch break or after work for 1/2 an hour.

Generally my missus is really good, she does a lot of research about places so this site will help a lot. Looking forward to this trip, I keep badgering my missus about making a bucket list, would love to be able to tick off what and where you've been or whatever. Can be big or small.

We have this map and we are slowly putting pins in it for ourselves as a kind of tick. But there's a few bits I'd like to do eg a biking holiday aboard, I'm only 27 so no rush for this but same time who knows what lies around the corner!

Great mind's think alike Rossgo (y) we also have a world map with pins off all the places we have visited. Best advice I can give is get as much traveling in as possible before you have kids. Bucket list is a great idea as you can focus on the things that are best for young couples and look at more family friendly destinations later in life.

Certainly will do Blade. There's a few cities I want to see in Europe, think we will try to see these through the next couple of years as long weekends away. Certainly don't fancy getting tied down with kids yet!!
