Bargain 1199s

Hard to say its cheap but great price IMO.

With the extras this is a £24,000 bike when brand new, which means its lost £8500 in just a year. Probably more as the guy says open to offers.

Duke you need to sell a kidney mate, sorry buddy ;)

That's a mega deal for that bike by the looks!

That's what I thought too.

Must be the arrival of the 1299 driving prices down, but still a mega deal as you say.

The exhaust is worth a fair bit but i don't think they really need extra power or more noise. Its a nice bike and sounds like its been pampered...his wife needs to go though! :D

I have a few ideas about what to do next but nothing will happen to next winter at the earliest. ( and the No 1 idea keeps changing anyway).

Was your mouth out with soap and water Duke (giggle) a Ducati sportsbike isn't a Ducati sportsbike without a termi system 8)

What are the options on the number 1 idea Duke ?

1.Stay as I am.
2. Stay as I am but have the 748 turned into an 853.
3. Swap the Multi in for the new version.
3. Add a 1299 base model.
4. Add an 899.
4. Add a good value 1199 over the winter months. I noticed they went up by about £1k once the spring was on the horizon but i think it will be possible to get a base 1199 for under £10k next winter.
5. Sell the 748 and have a 1299S but i think this is the least likely option that will happen. I just don't think i could sell the 748.

Too many options.

I would love to try the R1 as well but no one seems to have a demo bike so frankly its Yamahas loss.

Adding a 1299 or 899 seem the best option IMO, funds allowing.

I often consider option 5 myself. I Could sell the sp and get a 1299s but I worry I may regret it, the sp genuinely is like new but 11 years old now.

Don't sell the 748. You would always regret it IMO.

Option 4 seems the best from where I'm sitting. But it's not my cash.

How much will a 1299 typically depreciate in a year Duke ?

I think you would have to weigh it up over three years. the first year is always the worst for depreciation.

The first 1199 bikes are now 3 years old but at the moment you cannot get one ( worth buying) for less than £11k so they haven't lost much money. I think they were £14.5k new then.

I want to test ride the 1299 at the end of the month when my Multi is in for service then i can either keep it on the list or strike it off.

I know i would regret selling the 748 so its why i could only contemplate it for something very special to replace it.

Sounds like a good plan.

I would like to ride the 899 and 1299 back to back.

Option 4 for what it's worth.

I do fancy an 899 so will be testing one if I can. Can't justify one but want one :). One of the only crop of new sports bikes I could justify if it worked on the roads here.

I agree with Perkles tbh.

I know you have said the next sportsbike will probably be your last and I also know home much you love Ducati and appreciate the detail and kit on there top spec bikes.

You only live once and its too short. In for penny in for a pound I say.

Yep there is that. Also put a 1299 in wet mode and you have a 899 but with all the gizmos of a 1299. But you can't make a 899 have the poke of a 1299 by pressing a button.

We'll see. It's a while away yet anyway but it's good to have something to aim for.
