Just the sort of thing we Americans like to do after a few beers. (giggle)

That was epic! I'd LOVE to try that.....and maybe get some karts together at the bottom for a massive hillclimb race.

I wanted to do this when I was there, but it was winter, wet and cold and shut. Gutted.

I can tell you it is extremely good fun!! (nod) I haven't done it in Queenstown, but there has been one in Rotorua (North Island, not far from where i grew up) since my early teens. We used to go there regularly, before helmets were required and before they altered the track so you couldn't get 3 ft of air down the big dipper. I haven't done it after drinks, but I may have been for a few runs stoned (wasntme) . That track owes me a far bit of skin over the years. One of my best memories of taking my son to NZ was doubling up with him on the luge and going for a few runs.

And D, theres a chairlft to get back up. At the Rotorua site, they also have a Downhill MTB run and utilise the chairlft for that too.

Were you at the Queenstown one or the Rotorua one?

:^ (fubar) :D

I did a lot of stuff whilst travelling and visited many towns and villages. I certainly don't remember them all, nor every single thing that each town had to offer.

If you visited Rotorua I reckon you'd remember, it's the town in the North Island that smells like farts (or rotten eggs if you prefer) due to the high level of geo-thermal activity in the area. Has all the mud pools, geysers and thermal springs etc. It's a lovely place once the hydrogensulphide deadens your sense of smell :D

we went to a couple of thermal places. One where you get a boat across a lake to walk round. One where we parked the camper van and it had a nautral spring and pool you could bathe in (did that late at night in the dark, was weird being so hot at night)

Went to view a geyser too. So maybe we did go there. They cheat though and shove baking powder or something down to make it go off. hahhaa.
