Tragic news to wake up to. Phillip Hughes the batsman has died from the injuries he sustained whilst playing cricket. He took a ball to the head and didn't wake.

It seems to be me it was a tragic accident, nothing more. The ball struck him in a one in a million way.
Very sad for his family and his friends. You've also got to feel for the bowler.

Re: Phil Hughes
Very sad....frankly, I'm surprised there aren't more serious injuries of this nature in cricket, baseball & softball. hi-li. etc......those balls come at those batters at ridiculous speeds...in Hi-li that can be around 180mph (!!!!!), with the ball sometimes just inches from the batter's face.
And make no mistake, those bowlers/pitchers can put a ball almost exactly where they want it...to the inch, although I have no doubt that a Yorker like that just took a bad bounce which ended tragically.
