Which new litre+ bike would you have?
So we have seen them all now. Must be the best selection new litre+ sportsbikes ever released in one year.
So money no object, which would you choose? You can choose 2 as i think if i allow only one option the result might be predictable.
Not to sit in a garage/trophy cabinet and look at but to own and ride.
The Aprilia is a latecomer to the party.

Re: Which new litre+ bike would you have?
I tried to vote twice Duke but it will only let me select the RCV213 once, were other bikes listed I didn't notice
They say the sportsbike class is loosing popularity and sales, well if this is the results I hope that trend continues![Tongue Out :P](./images/smilies/emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif)

Yeah but there's some proper exotica in that list. I would take the Honda because I know it'll be silly money but an investment. In all honesty I probably wouldn't buy any of them.

Re: Which new litre+ bike would you have?
This may sound weird but I would buy the RCV brand new but only buy the S1000RR or RSV4 as nearly new machines. As good and impressive as they are they are ordinary bikes and will deprecaite heavily in first 2years where the RCV is a once in a life time opportunity to buy the planets best bike possible and a piece of motogp history.

Yep as nice as they are i would not buy a new bike unless it was a investment and then would i ride an investment or just have it in the front room

Investment or not bikes are for riding and completely wasted if not IMO, and that applies more to the truly special machines.rocket wrote:Yep as nice as they are i would not buy a new bike unless it was a investment and then would i ride an investment or just have it in the front room
Its like marrying the hottest woman ever and then never having sex, what would be the point in that other than a total waste beyond forgiveness

Just saying like.

Re: Which new litre+ bike would you have?
Tbh I'll be looking at another bike some time next year and it won't be any of the above, I don't doubt they are astonishing pieces of kit that would take my breath away to ride, but I've done sports bikes for a long time and want something different. I suspect that looking at some of the other bikes unveiled recently I'm not the only one either.

BMW must be feeling a little sick. First bike aired and its now the slowest with least power. ![Big Smile :D](./images/smilies/emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif)

Re: Which new litre+ bike would you have?
I have bought mine already the S1000RS its a cracking machine. Its only 160bhp but it does all I want from a road bike. So none of the above to own and ride. I would however have the Honda for the front room/investment.

That's a good shout mate, they are only going to hold their value and go up over time.Frankie wrote: I would however have the Honda for the front room/investment.

LOL
I'd take the Honda and the Duke.
Use the Duke on the road and the Honda on the track. After 2 years I'd sell the Honda and buy a retirement home, obviously the Duke is a keeper.

The duke will always be upgraded and replaced the Honda will always be a classic.
Do you think you'll definitely go down the Ducati route for your next bike Monty ?

The Honda will always be a classic, but you can't live in it! Was said with a bit of tongue and cheek.Blade wrote:The duke will always be upgraded and replaced the Honda will always be a classic.

My next bike will depend on a lot of factors, but mostly cash. I should buy the 636, it's a phenomenal bike and many orders of magnitude better than my ability. But and it's a big but, it doesn't really float my boat. I'm not going to walk into the garage and stair at it aimlessly as I did with the Daytona (yes personal preference but I loved that bike)
Might be bit shallow but owning something that I really enjoy being around is really important to me and the 848 would do that. Non of the Japanese bikes have ever really floated my boat.

Re: Which new litre+ bike would you have?
If i had unlimited money, I'd definitly buy the Honda. But then I would buy any road going version of a motogp bike if I had unlimited money, regardless of brand.
For everyday(ish) motorcycles, it'd have to be the Duke.
