A weekend in September in Germany sounds ideal ;)

We'll put it to the ladies when they're pissed (devil)

I've read several times in books on WWII (Band of Brothers comes to mind) that during the Americans march across Europe, they liked Germany the best.

Would quite like to visit there myself sometime, banking upon retirement.

Gutted for Costa Rica, my dark horse favorite. With Neymar out for Brazil and Argentinia's Di Maria out as well, think this is Germany's cup to lose.

I'm still rooting for Netherlands. They didn't look too good in the quarters but they got through.

Germany just works. Everything just works. But the food is not the best. Those horrendous boiled sausages they eat.... :(

They do loads of grilled and roasted meats as well. There's nothing like sitting outside, drinking some locally brewed german beer and picking on a slow roasted pork knuckle

Glad to see Brazil get knocked out tbh.. If it were not for referees, they would not have got this far.

They kicked ten shades of shite out of Rodriguez the other night ( best player of the tournament by far) and then bleated when their wonder boy got the same treatment.

I fear after a result like this and the protests about the money Brazil committed to the Cup, there will be riots in the streets tonight.

That's it for another 4 years. Overall a good world cup with some memorable games. The final wasn't great but the right team won it.

I agree the best team in all won, although I though Messi was poor, didnt look like he was in a world cup final, seemed very laboured and didnt seem to have the desire to chase down the ball or make those darting runs into the box, for a player that could have been the difference I feel he let the side down
