Sounds like a great day mate. It's been wet enough recently that it's unlikely any salt remained to lay on your bike, & they'll be out gritting from about now so you've probably timed it about right IMO.
I hope so buddy. I tend to do a thorough job just before winter so it can take a couple of months battering without much harm!

It made a pleasant change to ride the bike in the dry. Although we're at that time of year where the road salt leaves the roads damp and greasy

Nothing to the bike but looking at the bike tyres on the racks at Addisons whilst the car had the winter tyres fitted. Amazing how the profiles vary when you can see one sat next to the other. I would have thought the Metzeler M7rr was a similar to a Pirelli Rosso 3 but they have very different profiles. The Metzeler profile seems to flatten out in the last outside inch of the tyre but has a more pointed profile overall.

Fitted one of the barhandle muffs to the bike. I didn't have time at lunch to do both.

Hopefully it'll stay on :D

Gave the bike a quick hose down and wash to get the road salt off it.

Fitted the heated gloves today. I was going to fuse them in but after buying one and taking a look at the fuse box I realised the cover wouldn't actually close after fitting the fuse with the wire sticking out! So instead decided to go to normal way and connect straight to battery. I also used some electrical tape and stuck it on my tank as when the wire sticks out of the seat the connector or plug extends out and last year it stratched my tank, I don't want a repeat this year lol!

Cleaned off some rotten bugs, started it, and put it back under it's cover ;(

The IoM trip was the last time it's wheels turned, and it looks like it might be a while until they turn again ;(

Tend to agree with St Marks there Rossgo. An unfused heater element directly wired to the battery isn't ideal.

An inline fuse blade fuse holder like this is easy enough to fit and save you a lot of heartache if you have a heater element fail.

Sorry guys the gloves already have a fuse in the wire. I wanted to fuse in the sat nav cable and use the horn fuse so the wire is only live when ignition is turned on. Use one of those fuses with a out feed cable?? To.be honest I'm unsure of the exact details my dad was helping me do it!! I'm not exactly a wiz at anything like.this to be honest lol!!!

Wire it to the headlight cables.
