I see they manage to blame the French authority for it.

Yeh just imagine... the Country votes to keep those 'damn foreigners out'...and those damn foreigners decide, as a result, that they would prefer to keep those damn Brits out too.

That is what is happening.
When Boris decided that the foreigners have to have a job paying over £35k or huge savings to get into the UK, France is doing the same to Brits who want to move here. Problem for many brits is that savings do not count for anything here, so you have to have an income, salary or a pension. Many Brits, like me, come here to retire and do not have a huge pension.
My favourite saying when Brits moan about what brexit is doing is to tell them that it is what they, as a country, voted for.
Meanwhile I have my French residence permit on its way as I was living here before brexit, and don't need to prove any sort of income.

UK companies face £1.6 billion in extra costs without EU data sharing agreement

The average compliance cost is estimated to be £10,000 for small firms and over £160,000 for large businesses

Easiest deal in history.

Wonder how long before so many people realise they have been duped?

Imagine how much money is being lost by cutting out transport traffic to and from Wales to Calais. All that fuel revenue. Truck stops. Recovery firms. Accommodation. Then there's the ferry companies and EuroTunnel.

Maybe it's not a lot. But it won't be long before other companies realise that it's easier to avoid the UK.

I still find it unbelievable from an outsiders point of view that anyone could believe that being isolated from the rest of EU was a good idea. The propaganda must have been quite convincing.

Or people were easily led.

The basic spin was simple: we leave the EU, we don't have to pay them any money, we don't have to obey EU laws, we instantly stop immigration and we lose none of the benefits.

People believed the lies.

Common sense always suggested that for the people in the Country to be better off after Brexit would take a level of investment never seen before.

As it is now Britain will struggle to cover its debts without substantial tax increases.....and the UK as a group of Nations might not even survive for long.

That's the scary thing, it really really wasn't. Unless you actually believed Ahmed the brain surgeon was going to steal your job.

The leave campaign played the game. Catch phrases that stuck in the memory, then they paid off the media to keep bashing those phrases and the perceived benefits into people's minds constantly. Couple that with massive targeted online campaigns and key groups couldn't escape their message.

If you hear the same thing over and over for long enough you start to believe it. Social engineering at it's finest.

They can't hide from the reality from 1 January though.

Kiwi you cannot believe what benefits of being an EU citizen we have given up. But all those who voted for it are about to find out.

So, bottom line, the UK needs the EU more than the EU needs the UK...is that a fair statement??
