Mother in law in hospital with pneumonia and the nurses are buying her cold drinks from the hospital cafe with their own money because the hospital itself cannot provide them.

Beyond a joke.

Some people aren't bikes, they just have a bike because they think it makes them look good.

Especially true of Italian bike owners ;)

I still worry about these types of biker , a fall even at 20mph would be carnage in shorts and a vest top
I was in full leathers and thought about chasing him down but bottled out, maybe I’m just old slow and grumpy

(wait) It's perfectly ok, until it's not.? (smirk)

If you got onto your bike believing that the upcoming ride was going to result in a crash, then you wouldn't just be wearing leathers & lid etc,,, - you simply wouldn't go for that ride would you ?

I shouldn't expect that anyone on here is going to condone their "lack of caution", but nonetheless 99% of the time it will be perfectly ok won't it.?

Imho it's the outcome from that (1%) which makes their "lack of caution" such an affront to you, but it will probably have been perfectly ok.

Apologies its early I dont quite get your post yet
I'm not a biker snob ive done the commuting in winter ,tours, track days ,rebuilt them in my shed and bought new I like all bikes and types of biker
What I actually found offensive was the way he overtook me at speed on a blind bend past 3 other cars down a narrow road
It concerned me the way they were dressed that's all,the ignoring me when I pulled over to ask if they were ok didnt help either

Lol, was not meant to be a criticism of your post Perkles, just an observation about why we all get upset when we come across that conduct.

Fwiw I won't even take a pillion with me. I believe that any rider will tend to "ride to impress" their passenger. That coupled with the unpredictability of their passenger, the change in handling & control characteristic of the bike, and the outcome of my actions being wholly responsible for the safety of the pillion, make it unacceptable for me personally.

I won't even go there about the blind bend, overtakes, speed etc.... ;)

You would think in the current environment that no one would want to put themselves in additional danger of spending weeks or months in a hospital bed but stupid people seem to be in the majority in Britain these days ..

Currently if a patient is in hospital then no one at all can come and visit under any circumstances. That isn't likely to change for at least a year I would say.

It's not our fault we decided to go home with Sophia Loren and you've picked Angela Merkel.

I'm the same, my ex cured me of taking pillions by standing the bike up in corners if she thought that I was going too fast (shocked)

She had her own bike so knew what she was doing, bloody psycho.... Too bloody fast, it was a Street Triple 2 up. She would have shat a hedgehog on the MT-10.

I take pillons, mainly Jess, but she had never been on bikes before and I’ve trained her well. I also ride so much more careful and mindful when I have a passenger. I refuse to take anyone unless I can gear them up from head to toe.
