I just wish I'd had the cash to buy Cornish's SE at the time. Don't fancy his blade but then he'll probably have the 899 by April!

Wolverhampton Ducati had two new Evos out the back with no mileage at all. The unpainted tank is just lovely. I'd want to try the 899 and an 848 to check handling and how much of a step change the new one is.

Its a sizeable change. The 899 needs revs to get really moving unlike the 848 but the 899 handling is so much lighter and easier steering.

How do 848 and 899 track times compare in the 848/899 cup race which supports BSB rounds.

I guess for it to be a far comparsion it would have to be the same rider, in similar conditions on the same track.

There has been an 848 running near the front in this years races. But that's had a few years data and experience to work from.

It's actually really tricky justifying (to myself) getting a bike at the moment, so many other family/house/car/kids etc things I should be doing.

When i tested the 899 i was eyeing up the 848 the guy said they were two very different bikes. the 848 rides like a v-twin with lots of raw punch. The 899 more like a vtwin inline 4 you get a few more toys on the 899 as well. I sat on both back to back and the 848 felt wider and bigger and you sat in it more were the 899 you sat on top of it. If i had the money i would get the 899 but you can some proper 848 bargains.

My favorite Ducati has still got to be the 888

That's a lovely looking bike, the 888 is a classic and the prices reflect it I suppose, my Brother had a couple of Paso's back in the day, good bikes and he loved his ones, but compared to the 888 of the same vintage they look like the ugly mate with too much make up alongside the hot good looking one. Sums up his taste in women as well btw.

888 looks lovely but i am told its the most uncomfortable of all the Ducati sportsbikes to ride.

Good question Monty I'm not sure but have seen it on a few older Ducatis. I assume its part of the suspension but hopefully Duke will be along soon to explain.

Seems to be part of the suspension linkage, it's connected to a rocker arm and transfers swingarm movement to the shock.

I thought you preferred things of a certain age / vintage D6 haha
