We have electric and its just a switch its either on or off!! In all honesty though I'm not to bothered with the heating. I've been taught to wear extra clothes when cold!!

Heating has (not) gone on today .... the house was (not cold enough for that IMO ) when I got home :P

I can't see me lasting out for much longer though, things are getting "a little tense" :D

You saw it here first, my DW put the heating on at 6pm, I am reliably informed there is something wrong with my body's temp regulation, as that's the only reason I can sit there in shirtsleeves. The fact that Mini Gee is in shorts, tee shirt and no socks is utterly irrelevant it seems. :^

My son doesn't notice the cold. He would play in the snow wearing his shorts if he could get away with it.

Seems to be standard issue then, kids that are impervious to the cold. What's their secret?

My son's secret is eating about 5000 calories a day.

That's my daughter. She can't work out why she's tired all the time and feels like crap but she never eats.

Having said he doesn't eat, when he did the 2 weeks dinghy sailing in the summer he was ravenous every day - mainly for protein, we kept putting more and more in his packed lunch every day until it got ridiculous, he put some muscle on, but you could still play a tune on his ribs.

got a wood burner thats been fired up all this week, but it costs nothing to run so can justify it being on even if not needed, however, the winter duvet has come out today.

We've got an open fire, but after using a wood burner at a holiday lodge I wish we had one.

That reminds me, time to get some more logs delivered.
