What helps me sleep is meditation before I go to bed or even when I am actually in bed. There are a number of tracks I have on the Ipad which once I plug the head phones in, I am away. solid nights sleep until the morning.

I don't thing it's anything to do with having kids - I don't have any and I too can get to sleep, but have been waking up at 3am and not going back to sleep. I sometimes have cramp in my calves at about this time which probably isn't helping....

Ran the app for the first time today and it had me awake 9 times and only 2 brief sessions of deep sleep not good especially as I had taken a sleeping tablet. However in fairness I was swinging into night shift which is never easy. Good app though and will keep using it.

One question I have for other users is how effective is it if your partner is in bed with you ? As it's based on movement if your partner moves does it effect your result or is it sensitive enough to only detect movement very local to the phone if that makes sense.

Does it take into account what time you want to wake up? I don't want to be in light sleep at 2am and it wake me then when I wanted to get up at 6a.

You set your alarm and the Max it will wake you up is 1/2 an hour before if your in a light cycle.

Blade I've used it during daytime sleeps on night shift and nights with the missus in the bed, didn't seem to have an effect. I used to use it regularly for walking up from night shift day sleeps, but could never get over the mind bend of possibly getting woken up at 4am when i didn't need to get up till 4.30am, even though I understood the theory of it.

Offshore I can't bring myself to use it at all, I never get enough sleep and I can't bring myself to lose a minute of it.

I think it fairly accurate ,mine shows I get 6 hours sleep most nights .I still wake at 4.30-5 every morning which is a ball ache but looks like its something I am going to have to put up with

I'm a light sleeper and my sleep is disrupted by my wife. She has restless leg syndrome and if I had a chain saw I'd cut her legs off , its so infuriating. I'm forever telling her to stop moving her leg or back healing her in bed to tell her to stop and all she says is 'I never moved, you just imagining it', its like a red flag to a bull and I'm like (gah)

I've got into the habit of getting up during the night at the minute I notice I can't sleep and staying up for couple of hours. The wife gets a great sleep and i'm ready to fall asleep at work in the afternoon. I know I do stress about my bike believe it or not and I've noticed the best sleep I get is when I 've bought something instead of should I shouldn't I or buy new over old, so just making a decision is good for resting the mind :D

Kwacky thats a plan. But there must also be a contraption out there, where if she moves her foot it hits a piece of wood with nails /spikes in it.

I find that by concentrating solely on my breathing I'm usually able to nod off...I do that, or I listen to the TV - not watch it, just listen to it.
