I have heard rubbing butter into your tyres can improve grip and apparently putting a spud in your exhaust pipe is good for performance but nothing beats removing the brakes completely for improving corner entry speed. Its highly recommended by the AMRT (Association of Mentally Retarded Tw@ts)

I clean my brakes fairly often as I like to just keep an eye on them and check them over as the thought of neglecting them and them protesting scares me too much

Brake discs warped, and would fail a MOT. Going to replace them under warranty. Which is good as these discs came with the PVM wheels, not the bike (they are differrent).

Wheel bearing also knackered and again change under warranty. And again came with wheels.

Tyre below legal limit.

Apart from those, service done, injectors needed balancing, and coolant hoses tightened.

It felt better on the way home, but that could have been because I had been riding a tiger 800 during the service for 2 hours.

As for thoughts on the tiger. Was loads more comfy. Front brakes seemed crap, but it only had 100miles on the clock so could have just needed bedding in. Gearbox was better the speed, but still not great. Gear indicator was nice addition. Didn't like the clocks though. Very plasticy and cheap looking. Handled well, I just never got to really try it as the amount of traffic was insane.

I'm surprised to hear the wheel bearing needed replacing.

It was used with the PVM's during the track days with previous owner. Then sat in my shed not fitted to a bike for months before finally fitting again to my bike when I bought it. I don't know what it's gone through.

I'm still using it though I think. I never thought to ask if it was replaced.

Oh another thing is I have claimed for a cover under warranty. THere was some bubbling to the paint where a fastener is. Only tiny, but may aswell nip it in the bud now while it's under warranty.

Well warranty orders placed.

New discs
New pads
New bearings
New oil seals (due to changing bearings)
New Crank cover.

I'm well pleased about pads and discs. Essentially I have got 10,000 miles out of them (even if not working great) and now get a brand new set for freeeeeeeeeeee

Did they identify the cause of the warped disc ?

They only diagnosed what the issue was. I suspect it was from the hardlife they had before me, but obviously I was not going to tell them that detail.

Most likely the track action if they were like that from when you first got them.

Did you strip and clean the callipers ? As I suggested earlier it could have been a dragging brake that caused it and I would hate for the replacement to go the same way. Just a suggestion as I'm a worrier and would like to know the cause if it was me.

I'm more of a person who believe in magical pixies that are responsible for anything you can't see. Will take a look though.
