Man loving the QS so smooth and even goes 1st to 2nd. (which usually from previous QS experience you're meant to clutch to 2nd). Have to do a "fast ride out" to fully experience it yet simple set up through the app and it's rocking. Thanks again for the advice gents.

Only thing next may will be sprockets, yet haven't been that bothered by it yet...I know you all said so before the barrage comes my way

Oh advice please....I've noticed that the right hand side tank fairing is sitting close to the frame and has marked it; anyone else had this problem?

Plus, having taken the seat fully off to do the QS I noticed that too has rubbed the right hand side sub frame quite badly; any advice?

Also, as I ride the footpegs on the balls of my feet I've noticed a rubbing on the left hand side swing arm - what protection (non-carbon) would you recommend?

Finally yes I may look at putting some decals on yet not the winter testing ones as I don't wish to cover it fully - any subtle kits you'd recommend?

A company called Igus make adhesive sheet with a sole purpose of being a wearing surface. You could buy that and cut it to size for your swingarm? They do gloss black

I personally like the carbon swingarm protectors that came with the bike

I've got carbon ones on the zx6r which work IMO.

Before that I used clear adhesive tape similar to the stuff Cav recommends.

my boot rubs through the paint on the lhsd swingarm ,I used singmakers vinyl to protect it but it just rubbed through again .Its needs something a bit more solid imo

i have a few rub marks the paint on the frame / swingarm is poor. glad you like the qs can not go wrong for the money

I've got some protective vinyl in da garage so will try that first. Thanks gents.

Anyone had the fairing rubbing the frame I mentioned?

I've got it but just ignore it because you only see it when removing the fairings. I'd class it as weight saving anyway ;)

Hi guys. Monty and I were talking about the 'clunky' noise we get from the front end on our kwackers.

I've checked for head race bearing movement and all is good on that front (remember the issue I had on a 929 a few years back).

I'll do the 'push the front wheel up against the garage wall' approach Monty suggested at the weekend.

Yet is it from the broken tank fairing bracket? The replacement should arrive this week. And I don't think so as it sounds from the front.

I've checked the discs and they seem within tolerance of moving.

I've checked the pads for wear and they've got loads left.

So is it the pads shifting in the callipers?

It clunks with the lever pulled in or not over bumps. I've applied the brake at standstill and it clunks on forward or back movement too.

I'm due to service the brakes late Sunday so maybe that'll sort it.

Just it's loud and wanted your views gents.

I've taken mine to two garages Macclesfield Motorbikes and DK in Stoke and neither can find anything wrong with it.

DK had it up on a stand checked the head stock bearings and then took it out for a spin. All fine, the only thing he said was "Those tyres are sh@gged, not sure how you're riding around on them. They're bloody horrible!"

May just be a case of they all do that Sir. Certainly a few on here.

I think Kwaks are generally noisy bikes. That clunk when you drop it into first takes some getting used to.

Update...good news and bad.

Good - quickshifter is amazing!! Found out what the clunking noise is...

Bad - rode out with JT today...we both agree it's not the pads, discs etc so went to MD Racing as this clunking noise is doing my head in. Mike, who's done work on a fee if my bikes shows it's the fork bushes and yes a little movement in the head race bearings too. £450 to sort!!!! Then on way home notice high pitch noise from rear like a 'squeal' sound.

Phoned the lovely and very helpful Nicky at Jordan bikes who have been very good yet now I'm pissed. Due to proposed costs at MD Racing I may have to go to P&H for a second opinion as Jordan bikes not heard of fork bushes going, seals yes and it'd cost £150 to sort which they'd cover of course.

I've got to get the bike up there as not riding anymore as pissed. Did I mention I'm pissed? So whatever happens I'll get them to check and lube calliper bolts, bearings and check out front and rear brakes! Man why always me.

Sorry to hear of your woes Cornish, however on the "why is it always me" comment, just remember very very few people sell a bike, car etc in perfect condition, most people find there's something that needs attention on said bike car etc, and also find it will cost a few quid to sort and then sell it on. Understandably not what you want to hear, but there it is.

Btw, I am feeling sympathetically pissed for you. Fingers crossed you get it sorted pdq and for free.

P.S. Isn't this the sort of thing they should have picked up on a full pre-delivery inspection?

Yeah I hear you and eyes wide open and all that I'm fine with paying out as Monty will tell you. Just I got conned before with a busted headstock on a frame. Clearly this (hopefully) is nothing like that, just moaning I suppose. Better to get it off my chest.

Yeah I checked the last service bill and it said the seals needed replacing and test riding to be done. I'll raise this with them tomorrow yet like I say they've been nothing but accommodating with the various parts needed so far.

I just want to ride it and enjoy not be stuck without it or working on it in the garage.
